I saw one of these driving around and legitimately thought someone just put a Lambo tag on some hatchback.

Nope you can buy a $250k souped up hatchback now that doesn't look cool at all.

Just why?
They've been around for a few years right? I've seen a couple in my area. Not great looking but there's certainly worse. Not sure what I 'd choose as a daily driver from this list of 200-300k

Yeah, I see them on occasion. You wouldn't even know it was anything special except they have some pretty flamboyant paint colors to stand out.

I'd say the Huracan is the best looking in that list, but it would be a horrible daily driver - it's like driving a giant blind spot. Most of these cars would suck as a daily driver, they're really for showing off or fucking around on a twisty backroad on the weekend. I guess if I had to pick one in this range, it would have to be the Maybach, but to truly enjoy that it's probably better to be the passenger.

Cayenne Turbo or GT. Looks better than Urus. Faster than Urus. More comfortable than Urus. $75-$100k cheaper than Urus.
Ah, I don't remember seeing that in the list. Would be a good choice for SUV, forgot about the turbo/GT trims being up in that range.

Wife's 2012sienna needs a new transmission I am trying to convince her to get it fixed, trade in her other car( Chevy malibu09 that the kids drive make them drive the sienna) then get herself a new car compact SUV type( Sportage rav4 size) which car do you all recommend even if not one of those 2. I lean more to the kia (I have a Kia Sorento)she the rav4( because Toyota) she is thinking a hybrid( not plug in hybrid)

Honda CR-V. Rav 4 is good, but the platform is pretty old by now.

In that segment, I'd shop Mazda CX-5/CX-30, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota Rav-4, and Honda CRV.

If you go a little smaller into subcompact, Toyota Corolla-Cross, Nissan Kicks, Honda HRV, and Hyundai Kona are worth a look.

I'll never buy a Kia until they get the stink of the Kia Boys issue off them - I know their new vehicles all come with an immobilizer, but the people trying to steal them are retarded, so, I still feel like you're going to have extra risk of a broken window if you ever park in a city (a few people I know had just that happen to them).

Just get the Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid (Touring trim is optional for alloy rims, leather, and heated seats). The CR-V just went through a refresh, while the RAV4 is several years into its current generation. My dad and my in-laws have the RAV4 Hybrid and non-Hybrid, respectively, and my wife has the CR-V Sport Hybrid Touring. The only thing the RAV4 has that's better is slightly comfier rear seats. Getting 450 miles in a mid-sized SUV is pretty wild.

Don't buy Kia, Hyundai or Nissan trash.

Just be aware that cars are 50%+ more than they were even 4-5 years ago. My 2017 traded in 2024 for the price I paid for it new.

Recently bought the wife a 2023 Blazer with 8k miles on it, for 22k 24.5 after TTL. Didn’t do a trade in because they kept lowballing me on the trade, would have not bought the vehicle over it if it wasn’t such a great deal, they kept trying to give me 8k for the Jeep. Took it to Autonation after setting up and appointment and got 13k, so now we owe 11.5k which will be paid off in around 2 years as I financed for 4 years.

I don’t believe in buying new anymore, 1-2 year old vehicles with sub 10k miles per year will net you basically a new car and a huge price reduction from the new car price, let someone else pay the massive depreciation that’s lost the moment a new vehicle becomes a used vehicle

This is the vehicle we bought but two year older with 8k miles, now to be fair I don’t know what all this 2025 has but unless it has a woman that inflates and blows me it ain’t worth an extra 20k + the 2023 has lane assist, some gap spacing alarm, assisted parking, wireless car play and chargers, power trunks, heated leather seats.

Unless you got money to throw away, never buy new, hold out to find a good like new vehicle.

Not a fan of the brand but those Tellurides look pretty sweet. Especially with MSRP of 40k. Looks better than an 80k domestic.

Any car with a massive 2 year depreciation is going to be worthless after 6.

Those are throw away cars.

Check the 2 year depreciation on a C8 corvette or a Ford Raptor.

Well back in the day, buying new was a premium but you used to get deals and benefits. Given the price tags, the % difference wasn't that big of a deal. This has changed a lot over the years because of packages bundling shit no one wants being default order for every dealer, the massive price increases generally, and reduction in deals/benefits for buying new. I probably won't be buying a new car ever again, simply because the delta is now way too big simply because prices are outrageous. I think the dealerships/manufacturers have played into a situation where they've tried to capture more of the profit for the second-hand market through new car sales and it's backfiring presently.
