, and in a third book he is having sex with 16 yr old girls.(all of them. seriously its creepy. he is 120, and has had sex with an 16yr old Jubilee, 17 yr old Squirrel girl, and 17 yr old Jean, at least. probably more. I don't even want to know what is with X-23.)

Well, the way they are all drawn in the comics you really can't blame him. And at 120 he's probably tired of older chicks bitching constantly, amirite??

Leo Quintum is unique to All star. which has sparked alot of debate. Usually a mary sue character like that, in which the plot entirely revolves around is awful. but there is something about him, that fits.

The most popular theory is, he is Lex.
At very least he is a direct mirror of Lex. What Lex could have been if he wasn't a dick.

His comments when saying he will save Superman... or replace him if it comes to that.
his use of Bizarre clones.
"I'm trying to escape from a doomed world too, Superman... It's called the past."
Leo-"I could be the devil himself for all you know." Clark-"Oh, I think I'm a better judge of character than that, Professor. This is how much I trust you, Leo." (consider the ramifications as Superman would know he is Lex)
The hiaku. started by one of Leo's assistants, finished by Lex in his moment of universal clarity.

Thematically, superman is all about making things better, and getting his villains to reform. not murder them. A HUGE problem with the movie. In the book, solaris survives and in the far future is reformed. the ultimate success of superman would be saving Lex Luthor.

Morrison likes to write like that. You have to read The Invisibles like 3 times to understand it.
Maybe it is just how Lex would have turned out if he didn't lose his hair! I almost wish I saved the pages to compare the two.

A lot to think about though, making a good comic better.

I never read Invisibles, the only Morrison I think I've really read was Final Crisis which I didn't care for and the Batman RIP which seems like it may have been good but didn't quite work.

They handled Wolverine really well in the earlier Ultimate comics. Even in Ultimate X-Men, the weakest of the 4 ongoings(Spider-Man/Fantastic 4/Ultimates/X-Men) they had he was handled right. Not generally the focus, not treated like a real good guy hero, used to handle shit the kids couldn't or shouldn't. The entire Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine was based on this idea.

Then with Volume 3 of Ultimates they changed creative teams completely and *GASP*, Wolverine was on the team...guh.

I enjoyedOld Man Logan, although the final showdown was a bit of Mark Millar's signature over the top silliness. It's like his other seriesWantedexcept Old Man Logan has some hope to it in the end instead of bleak darkness.

I'm still not sure where he banged 16 year old Jubilee though. (17 Year old Jean was I think in Ultimate X-men, and Squirrel Girl isn't really explicitly stated as being sexed merely implied).

i always thought jubilee and kitty pryde were off limits to logan since he's more a father figure to them. (tho we can same someone wants him to live vicariously through his ultimate universe son, who has claws and is on/again off/again with kitty pryde, kitty who happens to now be the leader of all mutants) More recently we can add x-23 cuz she's a girl clone of him and he takes a fatherly role with her (even tho she's the first pre-teen he's basically authorized to outright kill bad guys) and "armor" a recent japanese girl who creates psychic armor that of course only admantium can pass through. but he's basically been around the block with a lot of woman, but if they're non white, they die, all ethnic women in the 616 universe he beds, seem to die (i think). like 2 insignificant japanese women, 1 japanese woman that is dakens mom, silver sable(indian? i'm sure). (but white women red shirts die too, just that all the ethnic ones have no luck)

Pretty sure Armor is like 14, I'd hope she's "off limits".

Superior Spider-Man is really kind of crap. I read up to the most recent and had to almost force myself through the last couple issues with 2099 Stone-man. I guess there's some hope left of Peter coming back with the whole

I go back and forth on Superior Spider-Man. Some writers seems to do good with it, others it is just terrible. I like characters changing sometimes, doing something different, but it is hard to do when multiple writers have to handle it and there isn't a REALLY clear "design doc" to work from for all of them (editor oversight maybe?) but writers tend to say "fuck that" anyways. I almost think some Superior Spider-Man appearances are shit because the writer doesn't like the idea and is shitting on it.

On the other hand! Spider-Man is such an iconic and solid character that fucking with him is going to be an issue. Fucking One More Day...

I don't think fucking with iconic heroes is really that big of a deal to be completely honest. I think Superman in Injustice was pretty interesting, the entire Flashpoint sequence was really fun too and I really liked Xmen v Avengers with crazy Cyclops. I think the premise is really dumb and drawn out for no reason, like at the beginning of the series Carlie has a hunch that Peters mind was switched with Doc's yet she just ignores it and goes about her day for like 15 issues. I'm pretty sure you've seen thousands of more fucked up shit happen in the world and the first thing you'd do was report that shit to the Avengers. Avengers capture him and that's the end of it. But she's like. "NAH DOC OC IS JUST UP TO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME FOR NO REASON WHAT SO EVER AND HAS NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE." It's just shit writing.

It's the problem with being a long-time, faithful reader. There are going to be things that happen that you absolutely and completely hate. There are going to be things that stretch the limits of what you are willing to tolerate. Maybe that's the Clone Saga, or Dead Again, or One More Day, or maybe you swear off comic books after getting suckered into The Death of Superman or maybe the Marvel Civil War is just one step too goddamn retarded to be allowed to stand.

How come no one told Reed Richards how absolutely fucking 100% goddamn wrong he was! REMEMBER THAT STORY YOU TOLD OF YOUR QUIRKY UNCLE HAVING HIS LIFE RUINED BY BY A MCCARTHY ERA KANGAROO COURT BECAUSE HE STOOD UP FOR HIS IDEALS AND HOW THE MORAL OF THAT STORY WAS THAT HIS UNCLE SHOULD HAVE JUST KEPT HIS HEAD DOWN AND GONE WITH THE FLOW? REMEMBER THAT YOU STUPID FUCK? Fuck doing the right thing! Fuck standing up for yourself! When the fascists take over just let them do whatever because it's easier.

Man I fucking hate Reed Richards.

But yeah, if you keep reading long enough the industrywillfind a way to punish you for it.

There's been a ton of shit stories over the years, just saying that the newest shirt line is SS. The sting's taken off partially by all the other great stories going on right now. Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: God of Thunder, and (unrelated to Marvel obv) Saga.

I really want to like this Battle of the Atom stuff, but feel like they're going to just throw away a lot of these characters. I like the alternate universe stuff and would be interested in more of some of these after they ruined the Age of Apocalypse (best alt-universe stuff since was probably Age of X... hate how that ended up).

The next big crossover lets us know part of the outcome at least too...

The Trial of Jean Grey, crossover with Guardians of the Galaxy - the Shi'ar want to try Grey for her atrocities as the host of the Phoenix now that she's 'returned' and GotG intervene:

I actually really like the idea of Superior Spider-Man (though haven't been reading it as much lately), and hope that the two end up somehow coexisting once that is undone, rather than shunting Doc back over into some clone or something of his old self.

Only casually read the Ultimate universe from time to time (thx, torrents), I wonder if they'll really end/reset it and if we'll get any of those flavors of characters over in the regular Marvel U, would think Ultimate Spider-Man probably has a chance to make it over or something and we'll certainly get some form of our Galactus back in this multi-dimensional game of red rover.

Yeah, sadly solicits from October and ComicCon or whatever have given away the Battle of the Atom ending, at least partially.

I'm going to chime in with the voices of others wondering why, when they have so many awesome new, young X-Men, do we have to have another copy of these five wankers running around? Was hoping they would go back at the end of this and that would be the end of this foolishness. Use that title to show some of the newer characters. Guess not!

I actually hate a lot of the new stuff. I can't read Wolverine and the X-Men becuse I've never liked any 'it's the kid segment of the main team(s)' that the X-Men and Avengers periodically cycle through. Also can't stand the art in much of that series. I feel like I haven't been happy with any 'new' mutants from the lights through now (gold balls? time bubbles? at least the healer is somewhere between Speedball and just flat out OP).

I miss 90s Marvel. X-tinction Agenda, X-cutioner's song, Age of Apocalypse, etc. What did I know though, I actually liked Liefeld's art back then. I was a kid and didn't notice he didn't know how to draw anything but pouches.

They need to do an X-men book with a kids theme like the late 80s cartoons such as Flintstone Kids and Muppet Babies.

Battle of the atom is confusing as fuck to me, I ran across it when reading the ALL FEMALE version of X-Men and had no idea what I was reading. Speaking of which, all female xmen is awesome. Wolverine's really fucking weird in it and probably shouldn't exist. But Rachel Summers and Psylocke are absolute badasses and Psylocke finally doesn't look like a cheap Chinese hooker.
