This week's episode of The Soup, Joel McHale made probably 3 or 4 mentions of how he's so lucky that he's got another show to fall back on. Followed by a sad look and, "Oh, wait..."

I'm sad about Community. I'd like to think that it'll get picked up again by Netflix or whomever, but I just don't know if it will. Especially with the cast trying to get other jobs right now.

I'd have much higher hopes for him than I did Fallon when he started, and he became pretty good.

I'm pulling for Norm MacDonald=P

Community was one of the most watched shows on Hulu, which is the whole reason this is being considered. Since the show has somewhat of a dedicated fanbase, it is possible there would be a lot of people willing to subscribe to be able to watch it, but really, I think this would be an experiment to see how viable Hulu Plus is for more traditional original programming. I do question how much of a budget Community would be able to get with this sort of format though. I would strongly doubt it would allow for things like paintball, floor is lava, or animated/claymation episodes, which is debatably not a bad thing depending on your point of view.

However, I'm guessing part of this decision will also be looking at DVD sales, and more importantly, syndication. Another season would put Community past the 100 episode threshold that is traditionally needed for networks to consider syndication.

Is this really happening or still just a rumor? I really don't see Joel McHale being a good late night host/interviewer(and I'm a big fan).
Les Moonvesdenied being in talks with him, but I don't think CBS isn't going to admit talking to anyone at this point. They want the announcement of the new host to be big news, and saying they are considering anyone would make the announcement old news even before it happens.

That's great news. I actually re-watched the last episode during my lunch break today, then saw this. Perfect timing me!
