I actually play D&D and I think because of that, the episodes are just not realistic enough to D&D. The DM himself rolls for every single thing, lol. Just nitpicking! But, I thought the story was otherwise good.
The DM will often roll for everyone when A. the players are noobs and B. they are spread around a living room, not sitting at a table.

Thought it was good, but I think the original D&D episode was better. A: because the way this one was shot with the lighting/setting was just really weird. Fucking dark and yellowy like True Detective or some shit. B: Chase in the first episode was an awesome villain. Fatter. FATTER!

That bugged me a tiny bit but I think it was for pacing so they could have him rolling and rolling as they all yell out stuff

Depends on how big of a table you do and how many people are familiar with the system, at alot of the cons around here 10+ person games with the GM handling rolls aren't that odd. And there were a TON of people in that party.

Thought GI Joe was retarded as a kid, the 5 minutes of this episode that I managed to watch didn't help to change my mind. Terrible.

You were an awful kid and you've grown into an awful adult.

This is 100% accurate. GI Joe was awesome as a kid! I haven't seen this episode of Community yet, though.

The G.I. Joe community episode felt like watching adult swim, with all attendant pros and cons. I laughed, it was funny, but it was also completely unnecessary, had tacked on character development at the end and was completely inaccessible to a large part of their audience. Did I like it? Sure. Did I think it was a good episode? Most definitely not.

If this thing gets a movie they better give Annie a topless scene. We could start a kickstarter account to make sure the money is good enough!

felt like a hard turn to the experimental weirdness of season 3, but the rest of the season has been really good so don't mind. It got really meta, really fast with everyone basically 4th walling about their characters.

I didn't get all the subway plugs at all though, it made subway look weird/shitty so not sure if Harmon was shitting all over a sponsor or did Chipotle secretly pay for it all

ratings were at a series low too

Abed is seriously my most hated character. They really needed to lay off a bit with his meta bullshit. It just became way too heavy handed.

Abed is the anchor of the show. Without Abed it's just a sad drama about some pathetic losers at a community college.

Well it's an ensemble cast, so they all have their parts to play and there isn't really a main character. That said, I enjoy Jeff's personality (similar to mine), and Troy's stupidity tends to be funny more often than not. But mostly I enjoy what the show ends up being as a whole, after all the characters do their thing. Strangely hard to pin-point a specific character that I really enjoy on this show.

But Abed is definitely one of my least favorite things, probably only outdone by that she-beast Shirley.
