Meh. As long as theres no quality issues, IE framerate type shit, or other things, Im happy to wait a couple weeks.

If we have to wait a few extra weeks, and theres problems, itll be nerd-rage time.

I will just end up buying PS3 and PC versions regardless. I'll just play a different class on my PC. From Software deserves a double dip.

Ya, not sure even at 'weeks' I could hold out. Might have to double dip as well.

I've already reached my quota of $60 console games for the year, so I'll be going with Gamefly at release followed by PC whenever. Probably on summer sale, unless the PS3 version vastly exceeds my [low-ish] expectations.

I just noticed at the end of that CGI video above that From is actually doing cheater pre-order DLC for Dark Souls 2. Of all the games that should not have a bunch of overpowered items thrown into your inventory at the very beginning, I'm pretty sure this is at the very top of the list.

Edit: Upon reading further, it appears they're just giving you a weapon and shield in your inventory at the start, but those same items are found later in the game if you don't have/don't use the DLC. Still kind of cheesy, but I guess it's no worse than shooting off the red dragon's tail or rushing the gravelord sword in Dark Souls.

Might be longer.

The quote is

"It's tough to say," he said. "We're still working on it at this point. I'm not going to say months. I hope it's weeks
So they hope it is weeks, but don't know.

However, this was nice to see

"But at the same time, we did realise the PC fan base and the PC audience really have high expectations for what a PC game should be. So for Dark Souls 2, we'll do our best to try and fulfill the basics of what the game should have."

Yeah I'm just gonna buy it on PS3 then buy it again in 2years or whatever on PC during a sale with all the DLC, like I did with DS1. I don't think they'll release it on PC soon, probably late may at best, maybe later, and fuck waiting that long.

Easy access gear never really saved anyone, just gave them a diminishing glimmer of hope.

Generally it lets you shit on the early trash mobs. And then the first boss comes, and it's about as useful as a tinfoil hat and a papier mache tower shield. Regardless though it's shit you can decide to use or not. It is similar to the dragon sword or skipping ahead to get the +4scimitar in demons souls(or whatever it was I forgot to be honest, the one in the place with the ninja skeletons). It doesn't require any effort but leads to the same result. It's not a competitive game(well there's pvp but by the time you get into a pvp covenant I assume you'll have access to these items as their dropped versions anyway) so who cares, it's like complaining about the console or mods making a game easier, if you use them you're the only person to blame, not the devs.

I wouldn't recommend buying from a non-authorized cd-key site just to save $5 over the Amazon price. Claiming 35% discount when the actual retail price is $50, not $60, is pretty shady.

Google is like half and half on them, so I'm removing. Good heads up

You are definitely going to get the game, but some say it may get you banned on steam.

The pre-order weapons are just re-skins of the base weapons.

Also, the swordsman starts with a +4 sword.

That's not what the info about the 'early access' weapons says:
Black Flamestone Dagger and Black Flamestone Parma - A dagger and shield encrusted in Black Flamestone both found in the Gutter at Black Gulch. Even though they are heavier than a normal dagger and shield, the Flamestone crystal's unique properties make the dagger extremely sharp and give the shield high resistance to damage.

Yellow Quartz Long Sword and Yellow Quartz Shield - A straight sword and small shield hardened with yellow quartz both uncovered at the bottom of the Iron Keep. Even though these items can break easily due to their high level of corrosion, they are exceptionally light and their power to inflict damage has not declined.

Bound Hand Axe and Bound Wooden Shield - A brutal hand axe and shield found in the Undead Purgatory. Both items are wrapped in chains and thorns to cause additional bleeding on enemies. Both the axe and shield have diminished in overall slashing power but their ability to deliver pain has been deliberately increased.

Homunculus Mace and Homunculus Wooden Shield - A mace and shield with spherical protrusions found in Aldia's Keep. Although heavier than normal maces and shields, the hard protrusions greatly increase the striking power of the mace as well as the shield's defensive capabilities.

Transgressor's Staff and Transgressor's Leather Shield - A staff and leather shield entwined with an unknown and seemingly lackluster element; these items are found in the Dark Chasm of Old. They have become a catalyst for sorcery and hex and cause an effect known as Darkness.

That said, only the staff sounds like anything particularly special.

But will 'The Darkness' be voiced by Faith No More's Mike Patton though?

So, will DS2 come with a "OMG I DONT WANT TO LOOT THIS SHIT" option or will broken straight swords and hollow pants still make it in our inventory every time we pillage a corpse? Inventory management is so... console... in DS1
