Might be longer.Ya, not sure even at 'weeks' I could hold out. Might have to double dip as well.
So they hope it is weeks, but don't know."It's tough to say," he said. "We're still working on it at this point. I'm not going to say months. I hope it's weeks
"But at the same time, we did realise the PC fan base and the PC audience really have high expectations for what a PC game should be. So for Dark Souls 2, we'll do our best to try and fulfill the basics of what the game should have."
Generally it lets you shit on the early trash mobs. And then the first boss comes, and it's about as useful as a tinfoil hat and a papier mache tower shield. Regardless though it's shit you can decide to use or not. It is similar to the dragon sword or skipping ahead to get the +4scimitar in demons souls(or whatever it was I forgot to be honest, the one in the place with the ninja skeletons). It doesn't require any effort but leads to the same result. It's not a competitive game(well there's pvp but by the time you get into a pvp covenant I assume you'll have access to these items as their dropped versions anyway) so who cares, it's like complaining about the console or mods making a game easier, if you use them you're the only person to blame, not the devs.Easy access gear never really saved anyone, just gave them a diminishing glimmer of hope.
The pre-order weapons are just re-skins of the base weapons.I've already reached my quota of $60 console games for the year, so I'll be going with Gamefly at release followed by PC whenever. Probably on summer sale, unless the PS3 version vastly exceeds my [low-ish] expectations.
I just noticed at the end of that CGI video above that From is actually doing cheater pre-order DLC for Dark Souls 2. Of all the games that should not have a bunch of overpowered items thrown into your inventory at the very beginning, I'm pretty sure this is at the very top of the list.
Edit: Upon reading further, it appears they're just giving you a weapon and shield in your inventory at the start, but those same items are found later in the game if you don't have/don't use the DLC. Still kind of cheesy, but I guess it's no worse than shooting off the red dragon's tail or rushing the gravelord sword in Dark Souls.
That's not what the info about the 'early access' weapons says:The pre-order weapons are just re-skins of the base weapons.
Also, the swordsman starts with a +4 sword.
