So Im about level 50 with stats all spread around. My plan was to go knight and do a faith build, but even at lvl 50 I just was able to equip the weapon I wanted and get up to 2 attunement spots with 18 faith. It just seems like my character is being pulled in too many directions to focus on anything.

Is it possible to get weapons that scale on faith outside of lightning weapons?

Helping people out on the Sinner fight is so full of fail. It's almost not worth putting the sign down and waiting.
I felt the same way with the Medusa boss in the pit of poison. I'd put down a sign, get summoned and then turn around. The 3 times I did that, the entrance area was full of poison still. Not going to bother helping others with her. She's easy enough solo anyway.

So far the only boss I had trouble soloing was The Pursuer and that's part because they wanted to make it a gimmick fight but the gimmick can be hard to pull off. Not even accounting for my inflated soul level, I think I could probably kill him solo now though after having a lot more practice and experience. But so far I've killed about a dozen bosses and The Pursuer was the only one I had to call in help for.

Sort of off topic, but does anyone know if Steamworks will be integrated with the first Dark Souls in the near future? Kind of wanted to play it while I wait for Dark Souls II for the PC, but fuck if I don't hate GWFL.

Anyone know where to find some sensible builds? Google doesn't return a fucking thing other than worthless "build guides" which are just summaries of the classes and two sentences about each with such magnificent advice as "the knight is a strong defensive character who benefits from strength and vigor."

If you have a morbid curiosity - you can give it another shot solo. If you've killed the Smelting Demon, you can go back to where you killed him and Pursuer will be there. If you want to kill him (he drops a nifty ring) you're forced to do it solo this time, no gimmicks and I'm fairly certain he has significantly more hp.

I dropped him on my first try, but I soloed him the first time without the ballista's too, so I already knew what to expect.

Pursuer fight is definitely dildos, but pulled it off solo after a few tries.

If you stay on his right side and push towards his shield (watch for the bash though), you can manage. If he tries that dash attack, rush him on that side and he'll fly right past you. Turn around and whack him. Most of his other attacks tended to whiff by me when I hugged his shield and circle-strafed there. I used a mace too, which seems really good against armored opponents.

If you're looking for Titanite shards early in the game, Harvest Valley has those hammer guys as the base of the windmill before Earthen Peak and the Covetous Demon. They drop them frequently. They also can drop Small Smooth and Silky Stones you can trade in to the nest for random stuff. I got Twinkling Titanite, Petrified Dragon Bone, and even a Demon Hammer once.

Apparently they can also drop Old Mundane Stones, too.

On a side note, I was super careful and took precautions...

...but the one chest Ididn'tslash, ends up being a mimic. Gobbled my ass right up lol.

Anyone have any insight on the petrified giants in the forest of the fallen giants? I'm pretty far in to the game (can open king's doors) and I still haven't figured out what to do with them.

The single giants turned somewhat into trees? They have a use, in fact they're mandatory to beat the game.

Got the game Friday, not really played it much when I do get a chance I am getting my arsed kicked a lot having fun though. Is it me doing something wrong or is weapon durability really low. I am using the fire sword you can get early on and it breaks all the time it has 60 durability same as most swords

It's not you. Durability is really low and goes down every time you hit something, including walls. Extremely lame change.

They do have a purpose eventually.

If you've heard people talking about the "Memories" - that's what they're there for - you go into the minds of the "frozen" giants there

So happy to have found that Haval's armor is in the game - rather annoying to get but such a joy to be reunited with it. Especially with rolling load % being more forgiving.

It's in the locked door near the Gutter entrance - the key is "Forgotten Key" which is found by clearing both Giants in Black Gulch - they're in a hidden little cubby you get to by dropping off the right edge roughly around where the second wall worm thing is, drop to that ledge first (also another locked Forgotten Key door), then drop down again to get to the Giant room

You should be able to go bonfire to bonfire with Fire Sword if you keep it upgraded appropriately with stats balancing it out correctly - I only get mine in the "Warning: About to Break!" warnings when I'm around corrosive crap - barring the times I get greedy and skip resting at a bonfire I just passed.

After finishing the pursuer and moving on the heides tower I'm definitely feeling better. I was having so much trouble with the pursuer that I thought "fuck, this game is going to be so hard". I'm in the wharf now and it is much easier. Killed a whole bunch of bosses in a couple of attempts each. I kept dying and fighting those stone sentinel things on the way to dragon rider and eventually said fck these guys and kept skippig them

If you watch their attacks, they're actually pretty easy. Shield guys do three attacks each with a potential stab at close quarters (rare). The 2-hander guys do a hard chop with a hard swing, or a two-chop with a light swing. Most can be easily avoided. The 2h-mace dude doesn't respawn after the first kill.

I guess I must have missed this pursuer, I killed giant thing in the forest of giants area that is about it and explored everywhere I thought I could in the area after getting the key so went off to the tower of flames and I am just working my way through there.

Yeah the stone guys and the dragon rider were really easy. The worst of the group is the 2h swordsman, and the 2 shields that follow up. But you can just bait them back and make them fall off the edge lol

So far all of the bosses i've done have been easy except for the pursuer.. since i went there right after the giant lol

Yeah the Pursuer was a bastard, but I felt so awesome when I finally killed him. The stone guys aren't hard really, especially since you can block their attacks, just annoying to have to rekill them each time as they take some time. Cleared that area anyways though, so should be good.

Wanand, pursuer is easy to miss and I believe is optional (could be wrong). Your key you got opens another door on the outside area passed the elevator that brought you down to the giant.

currently doing the drangleic castle area......flexible sentries made a return, and you have to fight
2 dragon riders at the same time
. this is probably my favorite zone so far....though the enemies arent all too tough with a physical resist shield
