Hey i summon friends for bosses after I give it a couple tries by myself. If I keep dying I always envision what it would look like if my controller hit the ground with a strong force of impact.

Magetank seems to still be a really solid build in this game. Basically, pump up the magic early (Int and Attunement) to chimp out some early bosses and keep boosting your other stats to match whatever your intended weapons are. You can ignore most stats earlier in the game by compensating with good fundamental gameplay skills, but eventually you have to start adding Adaptability. At least that is what I am experiencing.

As for weapons, I milked the firesword for a good long while, but I rock the heide spear and magic mace, since I have such a high Int. I also like the movesets of the spears and pikes, but getting one that scales off of INT (aside from the heide) is a bitch. Hit boxes are kind of fucked in this game compared to the last two and the stunlock seems ridiculous. Poise is basically pointless unless you go all out in it and even then there are some enemies that you just cannot tank hits from, whereas rolling and dodging are always viable.

Also, faith builds are pointless since you can buy infinite homeward bones and healing items in this game. None of the staple faith spells are really worth having, at least from a PvE standpoint.

Someone has already done the no-bonfire thing. It doesn't sound as bad as expected, as things like dying will repair your weapons, etc.

The no-death ring seems harder to get now, even considering you can rest at bonfires.

SL1 won't happen is DS2 barring a few crazy Japanese. Only SL1 class can't use Pyromancy to cover mask gear and stat weakness.
I don't remember any stats requirement for the flame, what do you mean? Not sure if fall damage is absolute or based off max health but if it's scaled then you could probably get the dark flame from the gutter at SL1 after farming enough souls for the ring, would be boring as shit though.

Edit: Nvm google says apparently it's a value depending on the height regardless, so you'd never be able to drop down without dying at SL1.

In this case yeah, you really can't use much with only 6 in stats, daggers mostly, and getting the normal flame with dagger only would be crazy slow.

SL1 will very much happen, I would be surprised if it already hasn't.
I did it in demon's souls long before that new-fan-dangle pyromancy shit existed son.

With that said, you need 10 attunement for 1 spell slot.. which deprived (the only SL1 class) only has 6.

No attainment to load a spell with 6 attainment. So you'd be limited to 1 spell if you get the spell slot ring eventually...

Not very practical.

I'm sure some fraction will do it, but it's leagues harder than DS1 to SL1. Probably 1 percent or less did in DS1 and probably 1 percent of them will bother with it in DS2 with the shittier starting gear for SL1 and Pyromancy being quite obnoxious to get started at SL1.

You can get attunement slots from gear (wizard hat or whatever, some rings), so it is possible.

Some guys are already trying, i guess having a lot of trouble on the three sentinels because they can only use a dagger

only a dagger? i thought i saw a dude that had at least a hand axe. Most weapons i'd imagine you would HAVE to 2 hand to use though with those awful stats lol

All 6s so best shield I can think of is the crap Parma ore to Heides and any weapon better than a dagger would HAVE to be 2H. Like the crap axes.

And I'm aware of the attunement ring, hat requires Int 20 though.

I did Freja yesterday
and I have to say that I think using a bow made the fight exponentially easier. Only took 1 wood arrow with my dragonrider bow to kill each add, and could be done from an extremely safe distance. Really the only time I had to dodge was the one single add that starts off spawned on the right side.

You should be 2 handing any weapon you have at SL1 anyway, its been like that on both DeS and DaS1 lol
Tards using a dagger are just making it harder on themselves for their lack of ability to dodge which is highly needed in a SL1 run.

The problem with sorcery is that the early spells seem good, but they are really the only viable ones because the big nukes all take a ungodly retarded amount of time to cast even with a lot of attunement (and going past 30 attunement is a horrible waste).

Miracles are pretty meh, especially with wrath of god being almost impossible to get, but lightning scales off faith so at least it's useful for that. But more importantly, it's for hexes (the in-game tooltip is wrong -- dark damage actually scales off the lesser of your int and faith stats, just like how adapt and end increase poise).

Personally I think the best caster build is one that starts with magic and then switches to hexes once sorcery becomes shitty. Get int and faith to 30, use whatever darkstoned weapon you prefer, and eventually switch to a dark moonlight GS. People say it's great for pvp too, if you care about that shitfest for some reason.

SL1 in Demons was even easier than SL1 in Dark, FYI. Infinite Soul Arrows from the start....

Manly men like myself did not believe in such rubbish as sorcery.
You are correct though. In my case, I did not do that as it was too cheesy.

So is pyromancy though.

I think I'm gradually overleveling the game. Right now I'm about Soul Level 135 because I'm very cautious. I have no problem clearing to a boss, learning the layout of things and then going all the way back to a bonfire to cash in the 30K souls I've accumulated so I don't risk losing them. Despite that I've only cleared a handful of areas.

I've cleared most of Iron Keep because the souls were VERY good there (and I was helping a lot of people out to learn the bosses and would run around killing stuff while waiting for summons). I also cleared the one cave right before The Rotten since it's the first place I came across that I could farm Titanite Chunks. The only other notable spot was Earthen Peak while farming Desert Sorceresses so I could play dress-up with Rosabeth. Got her a Desert Sorceress top, skirt and gloves and I have an extra set banked

Cleared a few other areas out of enemies but those are the really notable spots.

I've now lit 2 Primal Bonfires. The one in Iron Keep and the one behind The Rotten. The Iron King was VERY easy. At the risk of spoiling the fight, it's pretty obvious that sniping him with ranged attacks is the way to go while using the building to line of sight the flames (though the laser goes through the building but that's not one you want to hide from since it's 2 or 3 free attacks). The Rotten was also extremely easy. I made a big deal about cutting off the sword arm and when it grew back I just said "fuck it" and YOLOed my way to kill him.

Like I was saying though, I think I'm starting to overlevel the game a bit. I like to toss down a help stone to learn bosses and assist others before trying to solo them myself and the summon time is going WAY up. Belfry Sol had a couple invaders but was very manageable and the Rat Area only had 1 invasion (I won :p ). It also might be a time of day thing since all of my classes are in the evening right now so I am playing off peak.
