Anyone know where to find some sensible builds? Google doesn't return a fucking thing other than worthless "build guides" which are just summaries of the classes and two sentences about each with such magnificent advice as "the knight is a strong defensive character who benefits from strength and vigor."
The best suggestion is just to figure out what kind of armor/weapons you want to use, and make your build around their requirements. There are always going to be objective "bests" that the min-maxers find, but you can without a doubt beat the game regardless of your stat allocation.

I went in blind as a swordsman and I'm currently lvl 98, stats are 10 vgr, 20 end, 13 vit, 21 str, 40 dex, 29 adp. Using HKS +7, Dragonrider Bow +1 and things are working out pretty well.

Adaptability is the only stat that seems overly easy to ignore compared to its value - the rest as Lenas said is pretty much "look at what you want to use" then base it off them with extra stats going into the stats your preferred weapons (or FTH/INT if you're magicking) B/A/S improvement level stats. And then VIT/END/VGR if you're flush on everything else. [VIT/END/VGR generally being the go to stats if you're "close but just need a few more HP/another swing per bar of STA/slightly better rolling]

Was speaking of it from the resists and poise standpoint mostly - any agility benefits are gravy IMO. But resisting all the effects is pretty brutal without adaptability. Only quote on AGI in the guide is that "max AGI will cut off over half a second from the time it takes to use Estus" (Which is a 1.5-2s animation for me right now I think without a stopwatch - with 13 ADP on this character ATM [my current stat I'm working on in fact, since it felt neglected - even going from the previous 3 [Bandit Class] to current 13 has been pretty noticeable to me)

I just killed the Iron King and lit my first Primal Bonfire.

A lot of the NPCs reference how the land has been known by many names in the past but none are remembered due to the passage of time (and the nature of decay in the Dark Souls universe). I think it's fairly safe to say that the Dark Souls 2 takes place where Dark Souls 1 was set. I also feel fairly certain that Iron Keep was the remains of Anor Londo (fuck those archers, fuck them hard).

Agility adds more iframes to your roll, some streamer that got an early copy of the game says 38 for the agi softcap. I have'nt added much yet but seems even going up to 20 or so is a noticeable difference. I kinda plan on testing it myself a bit once i finish up leveling STR.

I'm using a Magic Mace now. It has B Strength scaling and also scales with INT. My Mace is +7 and is doing a lot more damage than the +9 Fire Longsword. Smelting Demon is extremely resistant to fire so I needed something else.

Loving the new basic Ultra Greatsword. It's basically like using Gutts's sword from Berserk lol. Takes a bit getting used to the new swing mechanics but damn does it wreck shit.

oh incase someone wanted to see what Adaptability does, here is a decent video showing 3 vs 20 points in it:

Fighting Mirror knight solo without spells is seriously no joke, but so much fun! Haven't had a player spawn from his shield yet...I wonder if that's not really working yet along with invasions. Fight would be even crazier with a real person in the mix too.
