Would have to check the guide for specifics, but what I got from talking to someone with it is that almost nothing resists dark and only a few things resist lightning. Magic and fire get resisted pretty often, to varying degrees.

Ancient Dragon is frustrating the SHIT out of me....but I won't let myself continue till I down him. I cleared all the regular enemies up till the last gauntlet to the fog......and it makes for a helluva naked run each time I want to face him. Seems you need PERFECT execution, and there's so many variables leading to demise. As SOON as he takes off, you need to sprint (not locked on) towards his tail, but make sure when he drops back down he doesn't land on you. Seems that every single one of his attacks, even his huge AOE fire blast, kills in one hit, so its a matter of perfection for 5+ minutes. I wish more boss fights were this impossible. So far I've gotten him to about 60% once, and can usually get him around 75% everytime he doesn't choose to fireball as his first move.


Quick question: I've heard rumor that there's an NPC you can help, and in return you get access to a fountain that restores humanity infinitely for free....can anyone help me access that? Would love to be able to do a quick travel and restore my full lifebar if possible. (Not that it makes that much difference, but it definitely erks me when I see a sliver missing).

It's in Shrine of Amana, and is only available when hollowed and you have zero effigies between inventory and item box.

Okay....what do I have to do to get access to it? I'm fine with never buying another effigy again ; except to get back into the chasm area as I go for Dark Lurker

I am having a real problem deciding what to do with my character's weapons and how I should play. Have yet to go NG+ but have been farming the shit out of the giant lord bonfire with ascetics.

Stats: SL 210, 28/30/29/20/40/40/36/20/20

Weapon options:
Dark Curved Dragon Greatsword +5
Dark BK Halberd +2
Scythe of Want +3
Manslayer +4
Black Steel Katana +10
Dragonrider Bow +5
Dark Pyro Flame +10
Black Witch's Staff +6
Almost every other boss weapon, but not upgraded

btw, about armor; I think it's reduced effect is because the negatives for wearing it are a lot more lenient too. 70% fat roll instead of 50%. The only negative for wearing up to 70% is 20ish% slower stam regen (Equip load now effects this) and a small reduction in roll length (About 10% or so). Otherwise, there is no difference between 0-70%.

I'm thinking that's why it's only really about a 20% EHP boost--one or two extra hits is a fairly big deal considering the trade offs are so minor. (Just from what I've read though...I'm waiting for the PC =-/)

Anyone give the Moonlight Greatsword a try? I popped an Ascetic and about to hit Freja a second time but Im torn on which to get with the soul, the Crystal Soul Spear spell or the big ass sword. Im leaning toward the spell as I tend to shy away from the really big weapons but I wanted some first hand info before I made the choice.

So I'm about to hit up NG+ when I finish farming and take out Dark Lurker. I've been going STR and I'm wondering if it will be better to focus on a 2nd offensive stat post 50. Any suggestions for a weapon?

My most powerful weapon still seems to be the Curved Dragon Greatsword, at +5 and dark infused it's like +666 total damage. I'm not crazy about it due to the slower attacks, but it can wreck shit. I am dual wielding with a Manslayer +5 for poise break, then smash.

Best uses of ascetics that I've found for farming purposes are the Place Unbeknownst in Forest of Fallen Giants (2x ascetics, 2x twinkling, soul vessel, tons of soul items throughout memories) and Dragon Aerie, which has like 5 or 6 crystal lizards. Aldia's Keep also has 4 Dragon Acolytes you can spawn from the second bonfire that can all drop Petrified Dragon Bones, I usually get 5 or 6 before they go extinct.

I have 45 str, 26 dex and i've only used a club+7 until i got a sun blade to +10, which is A/A scaling on both.. hits for about 370ish which is decent for a quick 1h sword with pretty good move sets.
I don't like slow weapons unless i stack poise to be able to power through hits though so i don't use large 2h weapons... i'm just waiting to switch to sorcery/dex in the mean time~

Yea, paladin is definitely my favorite hybrid. Equally successful throwing lightning while slapping things upside the head with a big 2hander.
