If my dad ever brought me home ATI filth when I was a child, I'd slap it out of his hands and then slap the shit out of him.

Luckily he wasn't that type of dad and he got me an nVidia Riva 128 so I grew up a respectful and well mannered child.

Come on now, the Riva(and Nvidia) was shit back then too, just like ATI. The only thing Riva and those ATI All-in-Wonder cards had going for them was 2D and 3D on the same card. Voodoo still stomped the crap out of them in 3D acceleration, but it was pricey since you had to buy a separate 2D card as well for the first few gens of Voodoo. I was a Matrox Millennium 2D fan...loved their cards.

2MB Matrox Millennium + 12MB Voodoo 2 was the ultimate.

I'm selling my 1080 to upgrade to a Ti because I game at 4k. If anyone is interested. Nvidia FE and I still have the box and all the stuff.

Unfortunately, I only have a spare 780Ti lying around. 1080s are going in the secondary pc, 4k TV! Oh ya baby!

It was a small upgrade. 980Ti to 1080 was about 20ish% MAX in best conditions. But 980Ti to 1080Ti is a pretty good upgrade. If you're not fucking insane like I am, upgrade from 980s to 1080s or 980Tis to 1080Tis. If not, wait for Vega and troll AMD fanboys!

1080Ti is great for 4K gaming finally. But, as I just game on 1440p, I will stick with my 980Ti and skip this generation. My gaming is pretty limited these days to EQ Emus, CIV6, and some FO4. Nothing very demanding at my resolution.

You know a 1080 for viewing 4k TV is massive overkill, right? There are Intel NUC solutions for 4k these days.
