You must move at sloth speed or something. Even shitty first generation SSDs are light years ahead.

Yeah, no shit. I can see the dffeence, its like night and day, especially moving back to 7200rpm from a SSD.

It's like those people who claimed there was no difference between SD when HD came around.

I just can't fathom how someone couldn't tell the difference between the two.

There wasn't a heck of a lot of 720p content available when HD TVs came out. They were probably trying to play a 480p DVD on a 720p TV and not seeing much of a difference.

Well, I guess you wouldn't see a ton of difference if you're the type of person who never reboots your computer, and all of your games and such are on larger, storage HDs anyways.

Or if you cloned a bitched up malware infested Windows install to your SSD and wonder why it still takes forever to boot.

Personally seen that half a dozen times.

Bros over at linus more or less did that, and the SSD still crushed the HDD.

I don't dispute that it's faster, and much better. But Joe is right. I hardly ever reboot, but I do have my commonly used games on the SSD. But night and day difference? Never noticed it. And this was a fresh install of Windows 8.1.

Even going back to the 7500 rpm gaming laptop, I never once thought wow, this is so slow, wish I had my SSD.

I never reboot but have massive gains in loading times and performance in SSD v mechanical drives. Everything is so much more responsive with SSD v even 10k drives. Tho i'm no expert tbh it just feels alot faster...

So I'm finally replacing my 560 Ti and I'll probably get a GTX 970. Is there any particular version that's better than the others at the moment?

The Asus Strix 970 is on sale for $329. It's one of the faster ones, and the quietest.

My research also points to MSI or gigabyte g1 gaming The gigabyte is the fastest, again based on research and it has a backplate but it is also louder and longet so it doesn't fit in all cases. I have also heard good things about the galaxy oc card if you want to OC.

It's just not a big deal in real use cases unless you plan on SLIing 2 to use for a 4k display.
