The 480X is going to sell like hot cakes, it's just that we're not the target demographic to buy it. Anyone willing to plop down 500$+ on a graphics card has little interest in a budget performance card but the vast majority of graphics card sold are exactly in that segment and NVIDIA has nothing that can touch the 480X. AMD is going to make a killing off that card, and it'll go a long way to making VR quasi affordable for the masses.I'm still gonna roll with the 1070 but I can see the 480 appealing to some. I don't even know how AMD stays in business.
Skylake overclocking:Skylake Overclocking Guide [With Statistics]In addition, I was hoping to get some advice on CPU overclocking. I've never done it before, and have little knowledge on it, so was wondering if it's a worthwhile thing to do, and if so, how to do it.
Uh, until they release the 1060 and it will probably be the same price and better. The 480X is going to sell like hot cakes, it's just that we're not the target demographic to buy it. Thanks! Any thoughts on IPS vs TN panels? I've been looking at the ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q/PG279Q, identical except for TN/IPS. The TN is less expensive by $100+ and I'm concerned about light bleeding on the IPS.Yea definitely go for 1440p/144hz if it's within your budget. Honestly I'd say take 144hz over anything, even if it's only at 1080p. The res different from 1080 to 1440 is far less noticeable than going from 60hz to 144hz, at least for me (specifically for gaming, productivity/work is another matter).
Yea, I had a quick 2ms TN gaming monitor then later added a nice IPS 2nd monitor for my Photoshop needs. I had never had an issue with my TN panel until they were side by side. My OCD got the better of me and I couldn't stand looking at the TN's whitewashed p.o.s. look afterwards. Now I have two 1440p IPS monitors.I'll take backlight bleeding on a IPS over a shitty TN every fucking day. If you're looking at it like this, you really should go see both and check out the difference (preferably side by side).
2nd'd. Get IPS, never look backYea IPS is a night and day difference over TN. Any light bleed issues that exist on my panels I don't even notice, and having the viewing angle not whitewash everything when I slouch in my chair is truly living the high life.
