So Vogel is the Brain Surgeon? She got started studying psychopaths because she is one? That's the only thing that makes sense with what happened. And if so, did she get upset with the kid (I forget his name) and try to frame him so that Dexter would kill him, and when he didn't, she went ahead and did it herself? The only other possibility for killing Cassie is Quinn, but much as he's a shitty cop I really don't believe he's that kind of a killer. If they do make it him, I'll be even more disappointed. Which leaves Vogel, or some person we haven't seen (or at least been given any indication they are important) this season. Which would be stupid too.
This season answers the question none of us asked: What does shit flavored ice cream taste like?
My early guess was Vogel too, but it could be someone unannounced I guess. Yeah, i almost thought it was Quinn framing Zach but brutally murdering some innocent woman does seem to go too far, maybe that was also the brain surgeon trying to fuck with Dexter.. dunno at this point. I mean i've kind of accepted the way the show has degraded some, but i'm still thoroughly entertained. Asking Hannah to stay is definitely going to blow back on Dexter pretty badly I feel.

Vogel looks like the most likely candidate for being the brains surgeon, but she looked surprised when she saw the specimen jar at the end. I had to watch the scene again to make sure what her facial expression was because she has that permanent scowl. The preview elludes to it being someone else, but like i said before, the writers seem to have a "who the fuck cares its the last season" mentality.
