Sadly they don't, at least account wide. You can see a character's /played, but not your account, and since I personally delete all my characters between every league more or less(I only keep a few on standard in case I need to test something), there's no way to know how many hundreds of hours I have in the game. Kinda sucks but not the biggest issue either.

Keep in mind D3 had some more complicated mechanics, like runes, that were cut or simplified for mass appeal. Whatever they say this year has no bearing on the actual game, any comments from this Blizzcon are made with the intention of luring back people they lost last year. Then in two years D4 might well turn out as simple and shallow as D3 did after some late-alpha/beta feature gutting.
So getting the game we are seeing now, minus any depth, is the most likely result.

Ohhh, I think they are pretty well in to development at this point. I don't think they originally planned to show it this year, but were forced to put out a demo build of the current state. I doubt they sit on this much past 2020.

And it will all change multiple times. The only takeaway from this should be “We are working on Diablo 4, it might get cancelled, but we’re planning on making it console playable and it’ll maybe be out before the heat death of the universe (but probably not).”

Well yea, they are showing the core of the game that will be D4. Everything could change, for the better or the worse. I'm thinking Jan-Mar 2021.

According to a (lol) Kotaku article, they started work on this current version of D4 in 2016.
