I am just going to parachute in here and, without reading much of the last pages, indicate that no matter how much they improve/have improved the base game, there is no fucking way I would drop $60 - $110 for an expansion on an ARPG loot game that I dropped almost immediately because it was the worst designed PoS I've encountered in forever. Literally the only regret purchase I have ever made outside of Escape from Tarkov (and that because I don't have the requisite patience to play PvP games outside of War Thunder).

How are they dropping an expansion so soon after a disastrous launch? I know, I know, it will be bought in droves by the normies who barely play.

I like playing the same game as the rest of the internet, good or bad, it's a nice sense of community. Which is why I bought this originally.

But you are 100% right about this. I also think there's nothing appealing about the expansion so far. But can we wait a few months for PoE 2 early access?

£35 isn't too bad, I think I have got what I paid out of D4, dissapointing as it is. If they do Kurast justice it'll be better, but they only announced randomname jungle so far.

Yep and that's why Blizzard will continue to make idiotic amounts of money for absolute minimum effort. People like you empower and even compel modern day Blizzard to not change a fucking thing, ever.

I have no intention of buying the expansion based on what I saw this season, but a year and a half really isn't that soon. It wasn't as terrible as I expected, but there's no way I'd put up with tempering, enchanting, masterworking, and paragon (mainly lack of respec/saved spec options, but the whole thing is just garbage anyway) again without a massive revamp. Doubt I'll even try it again after the patch today, since none of my characters' builds received buffs and there's no way in hell I'm farming up a whole new set of gear for any of them.

The longer Microsoft takes in transferring my Blizzard bucks over to Microsoft money, the more likely I am to buy the Xpac.

Yeah, it's out 10/8, but close enough. If they hadn't been fixing all their fuck ups it probably would've been out for the 1 year anniversary.

Oh, I see what you mean. It will be a year and half since release. I thought you were saying they still have a year and a half to work on making the Xpac something worth buying.

They basically completely overhauled the way the game played from Launch to Season 4. They nerfed the hell out of tons of great builds at first, swinging the nerf bat like they worked at Verant rather than Blizzard (although I am told that my opinion is this rather overstated, much like the "Sorc is ruined" video I posted above, and they didn't do as much as I allege). The moment to moment gameplay has always been great but almost everything else about the game sucked ass and way obviously designed to drive other metrics than "fun" (sorry, I know its a drum I beat often). After the game was nearly dead, other games came out, last Epoch did gangbusters with lesser gameplay by not hating its players as much and other games are coming (Jaws theme plays with POE2 looming in near future) Blizzard finally got their act together and while there at LEAST a half dozen things that still need be fixed and another that be improved, the game, as others have stated, is close to being where it should have been at launch.

Now Blizzard is still a huge company owned by another huge company rife with all the opportunities for fuck ups and terrible decisions that entails; I am shocked they have gone this long and not made another major mistake. Right now, though, they saved their game, its fun, and I feel like that is worth rewarding.

When they go back to fucking it up, then it will be time to vote with your gameplay minutes and play something else. Shadow of the ErdTree is coming for everyone soon enough.

While they have improved the game for this season the core of it still blows, they still have no clue why this franchise ever became popular. The only talented people to really exist at Blizzard is the art and marketing team.

Don’t forget the launch was botched because they allowed fat trans abominations who couldn’t even play this game via console and didn’t even understand how math works to be leads on the team.

Holy shit is rogue crazy when compared to barbarian at the same level 55. I haven't even come close to dying. WT4 and everything is melting. Gonna try some NMD's and PIT. This is just silly.

When I did my runs with Sorc I was amazed at how much easier it was to play a ranged character doing direct dmg than it was with the Barb, or even the Necro, who had the minions doing lots of killing but I had to walk right up to stuff to do my attacks. Leveling a Tornado/Wind shear/Poison Creeper/Trample (ranged) Druid now and its the same thing: Ranged vs. Melee, ranged has a huge survivability advantage, at least in my experience.

What build are you using? Started a Heartseeker but only like lvl 18 so its pretty bad right now.
