Since she showed up in the first episode of the last series and then did the mid-series xmas special plus the 50th and the regeneration xmas special she ends up being part of the series for quite a while. Remember that Rose was only in two series (1st and 2nd), Martha was in the 3rd and Donna was in the 4th. Amy was in all of 5 and 6 plus half of seven making her the reigning queen post relaunch with Clara in the number two spot by virtue of extra specials and having debuted in Asylum of the Daleks.

Yeah seems like a while to me. I kind of wish we had Companions that didn't act as the foil or counterpoint to the Doctor. If were going to have a kick ass Doctor I'd rather see an Ace type. Or maybe even a slightly evil companion. I miss the original Ginger, Turlough.

The 5th Doctors run doesn't get enough credit probably because it fell right after Baker. I really enjoyed the arcs. Tennant and Davies often felt the same as if they were drawing on a lot from that era. Always thought it was fitting in Time Crash that Tennants doctor called the 5th "my Doctor". Wish they'd show more old Who, I think the current fans would like 4-5-7's episodes.
And yeah, I think Turlough might be my all time favorite. Really wish he had stuck around. Adric's arc was really good too. First companion they really killed off iirc.
So, anywhere streaming this? I have a bday party to go to, and would like to see it before I go. :/

I agree. From the Workprint a month ago I thought this was the best ep I had seen in a long, long time. The Scottish jokes were funny, the Companions were right on, the story was very good. And both the phone call and the mysterious woman (Keeper of the Nethersphere according to BBC) really had me interested.
I want to say she's the Rani (Those eyes! Plus the boyfriend reference.) or the Papal Mainframe, but I will just be wrong. Capaldi blew me away completely. He's everything I expected and more. I think he will do very well, and even better when he gets new Companions.

Er... wasn't this exactly the same as the Christmas Cyberman episode (Cybermen crash in Victorian London repairing themselves with bits of people and steampunk) with a worse bad guy and less dramatic ending? With the also Christmas David Tennant first episoded rehashed in with it?
