Missy is so awesome. I can understand not being able to have her all the time so as to keep her fresh...but damn she is a fun character.

I really thought they were going to wrap Clara in that episode. They got her inside the Dalek, all they needed was a time vortex and they could have put her back in the first episode she appeared in with Smith, where she was an insane dalek.
I thought the same. Would have been an interesting way to end her run. Have him not kill/release her but just walk away.

I liked the bit with the Dalek armor interpreting different thoughts in different ways than expected. I was thrown off slightly by the Doctor being surprised at the Dalek seeking mercy, though. Then I remembered the Dalek that was screaming mercy was saying it to River Song previously.
yes, that happened.
was a great episode, could have done without the sonic douche glasses, but this was pretty much a classic episode. i wouldnt have minded if thats how clara went out. missy is awesome.

Yeah, trading the screwdriver for a pair of sunglasses is kinda lulzy.

They need to switch that back within a few episodes. The Doctor has a magic wand. It's just part of his kit.

Not sure what to think about the episode. Get back to me in 5-20 years. Until then I really found it cringe worthy.

This prophecy and all that stinks of Sound of Drums. Giving the Master's insanity an excuse is almost as bad as pulling a prophecy out of your ass. The Doctor ran away with Susan. He was at the very least late in his first regeneration, he travelled with a Time Lady who knew all about him and even joked at how terrible he was in school. He has been put on trial, and even named President of his own people. Not once in all this time did anyone mention hybrids or prophecies. But I get it. We are out of topics...but a prophecy??? C'mon man.

That said I thought it was interesting that Davros pointed out they were always programmed with mercy then iterates for their father. So Clara saying mercy may have had implications in that direction. With Moffats track record she's likely to be the Hybrid herself that he makes with River Song in the Xmas episode. Cue porn music.

I hope that "The Hybrid Prophecy" is just one of those toss away one episode one liners that gets forgotten. Because it was straight dumb.

Man, after watching a slew of these Baker episodes, I kind of want them to go back to writing more in that style. They played like short stories adapted for screen.

The writing has become a lot slicker, but there's a charm in that "plot point, plot point, plot point, action happening offscreen, plot point, plot point" style as well.

I must have missed the prophecy stuff, but was a solid episode. Quite a few clever things in it like the Dalek armor translator, Missy trying to get The Doctor to kill Clara and feeling sorry for/understanding Davros. I think that I would have liked it better if Davros actually did die in the sunset and then the Daleks pulled that shit after.

sonic sunglasses were every bit as bad as I feared.

I am drawing a blank on what happened to his screwdriver. I figured he needed to give it to River in the Christmas episode, but that aint happening unless the episodes are being shown out of order.

She's fucked now. She was inside the Dalek body when the energy was transferred in to it. I'd imagine that has made her a Dalek hybrid. Explains what ultimately becomes of her.

I don't know... I don't think she will end up a Dalek or a hybrid. I think it was just meant to be uncomfortable and to remind the viewer of Asylum of the Daleks. When Clara when into the Doctor's time stream, she was able to insert herself to be anywhere and anyone who could help him. There was a version of her that was on Gallafrey, so by that logic you could say she will get two hearts and end her life there. The Oswin Dalek didn't know who The Doctor was. It was just one of the versions of the Impossible Girl.

Right. She doesn't even have full memories of most of the versions, just a few. Most were just echoes, as it were. Her being inside the Dalek just made the Doctor pissed, which I think added even more to his dismissal of Missy at the end.

The Regeneration energy only transferred to genetic Daleks (like the ones in the sewer), it had nothing to do with the Dalek casing that Clara was inside.

Ya. At first I thought oh shit she is going to get juiced but you can see all the Daleks glowing except one when she drives out of the room they are all in.

Went back and watched it and, yeah, you're entirely correct. I still think she's somehow been "infected" now even if it's just some Dalek code that will have invaded her system. The Doctor had this, "Oh, I'm so sorry you're doomed" face on and Missy is hovering in the background saying, "Everyone's a hybrid".
