I'm wasn't a fan of DBR but I liked the general stat tracking. Hopefully Valve will add some of stats, like most last hits, highest gpm, etc to your private in game profile.

DB can still collect global stats, just not player specific ones without that player's consent. I don't see the problem, if they weren't such babies about it they could still offer their service to the players that want it. I'm already sick of the DBR meme that instantly invaded every single game.

No less than 24 hours after Dotabuff rages and closes down due to valve's new webAPI does Cyborgmatt go and create a website that gathers match information while incorporating player privacy. Dotabuff is a bunch of fucking whining bitches.

Yeah that's not even close to being the point. He made that in <1 day from literally nothing. The point is that it can still be done, Dotabuff just wanted to blame Valve instead of actually adapting to a game in beta. Fuck dotabuff hope it stays gone forever.

Started my first actual games today and came across a player that I could not kill at all. That blood seeker douchebag had an absurd amount of HP and was 1 and 2 shotting everyone on my team, myself included.
I knew some characters were over-powered but to be able to wipe out the entire opposing team, creeps and go toe to toe with multiple towers is bullshit. AND this dude came out of nowhere, suddenly half way through the match never saw him before then and the announcer just starts going apeshit with the "God-likes" and "Holy shit". He was also a lvl 24.

That has nothing to do with a hero being overpowered...

BS is actually a very weak hero, but is fairly strong against new players. Sounds like you still have a lot to learn, don't assume it's the hero's/game's fault that you are losing, often it'll be the decisions made by you and your team.

When you lose to a specific hero, go to the learn tab and read his skills/abilities.

Seems to me, a hero that wipes out and entire opposing team one after the other while standing toe to toe with multiple towers all while taking little damage is a bit absurd for a "weak" hero. 5 players, 2 towers little damage. I understand he siphons health after each kill but wtf.

And yes, I am very new to this.

If bloodseeker was able to get that much farm I assume he was jungling? at level 6 he gains an ability where if you even move while it's on you, you take massive amounts of damage. He's mostly only ever useful for his ult (sometimes his silence), but that's if he's able to actually get the farm to back up the ult if you/your buddy/whatever decide to fight.

A general rule for myself and probably many others - if you don't see a hero for at least let's say 2-4 minutes.. he's probably jungling. Get another person and go kill them. Over and over.

If you're playing support, you should be buying wards. You can also buy wards and ward creep camps so the creeps will not spawn at all, forcing him into a lane and possibly fighting for farm.

I'm going to assume that's what he was doing. It gave him a huge advantage over the rest of us.

It's important to understand, I think, that all power in dota is relative. It is not so much about how powerful each teams heroes are but a lot more about how fast you get powerful. Dota in its core is about gold and xp management, kills by themselves translate into that by the gold awarded to the killer plus the possible assists the gold loss on the killed and the downtime of waiting to respawn.

Something that I see often in my normal/high bracket games is a lack of understanding of when you are indeed stronger, when you should push and when you should farm. Seems that people get into this mindset that there is a way that their hero is supposed to be played and ignore the way the game needs to be played.
But I digress, my point is that, in that particular case Bloodseeker is really strong only because he got fed, he got ahead in xp and gold. When a hero gets ahead in xp and gold, especially any kind of carry, he is going to be dangerous, and in fact thats what playing a carry is all about: getting ahead. Not just getting stronger by farming/killing, its getting stronger FASTER by farming/killing.

Maybe that all sounds very basic, but I think that is where your problem lies, in the basics.
Just give it time, hang in there and keep playing.

Give us the match ID if you want people to give you more specific tips. Bloodseeker is one of the notorious snowballing heroes, it sounds like he got fed a fair amount so it's hard to win after that unless you have equally farmed carry who can bitchslap him. but if you can stop him from doing that, he is really weak later because he can't really farm creeps at decent speed compared to real carries.
