I'm not sure I enjoy the pace of the new games. It's very easy to get levels. Also seems easier to get multiple items as a support but I'm not sure if that's a function of easier levels.

I'd say the gold progression is about the same - if you stay alive during late teamfights, you will make it rain, otherwise not so much, but the early game is a lot more stable thanks to bounty runes, unless you fuck up horribly, you should be able to get chicken/wards/boots on time.

I'll have to monitor it more but I seem to have quite a bit of items as support (ghost scepter, euls, forcestaff, etc) where prior to the patch I'd be lucky to have 1 of those most games.

It's easier to get items if you play support as hard 5, but if you play the typical solo support in pubs, I found it better to simply watch for empty lanes to farm here and there, while your cores run around like headless chickens. Of course, if your team is pushing a tower and you are farming, you are doing it wrong, but more often than not, there is enough downtime that you can get 1 item before 20 minutes easily, thus making it much easier to survive teamfights and snowballing from there.

has there been some sort of MMR inflation going on? i haven't really played since last Spring at which point my MMR was around 3k and since starting playing the 7.00 patch i can't seem to lose, closing in on 3.5k with like a 75% winrate.

I'm not awesome, but I've been ROFLstomping since the patch. It really feels like some type of matchmaking change occurred. I'm not paired up with forum dipshits as much either.

I was getting matched as solo unranked vs 5stacks, as in, 5 solo players vs a stack, so they definitely tweaked something. Might be people coming back and being shit, or just sucking at adapting.

Here are the notes. MK is still retarded, but slightly less so. The passive buff persisting forever will have to go. The Ench buff will make her come back, I'm sure, she benefits so much from the new map since she is essentially invulnerable for the first 5 minutes or so. The Ogre nerf is bigger than it seems, not being able to club most carries to death is huge.

Good changes for a start. I think his synergy with jingu mastery and Q is still way too fucking good. He can be almost dead, and heal to 100% if he hits 2 targets with his Q.

Should apply lifesteal only to his normal attacks or something

It would be a more interesting mechanic if they tied his attack range to Jingu Mastery stacks. Let it start at 200 if you want him to already have an above average range and then gain 25 per stack up to his 4 stacks and 300 range. Remove / tone down the lifesteal or adjust the interaction with the Q.

Morphling's new Waveform radius is bullshit, I hate it. I can literally land on top of someone but not be from a direct LoS and have it miss. It's complete bullshit. I can understand a minor change, because to be honest it was pretty damn strong before but holy shit it sucks now.

edit; Also if you're running a stun strong Morph for initiation or whatever reason, your damage is not nearly what it could be without a strong Waveform to add to the fight so it makes it even worse - almost makes a STR based Morphling (which were not all the rage anyway, I understand but bare with me) completely useless in anything beyond a 1v1 style fight in which you might not even have the upper hand due to lack of AGI damage anyway.

Reading patch notes from now on is going to be a pain in the ass now with all the small tweaks to talents like "Changed Level 15 movement speed bonus from +25 to +30" and "changed level 10 talent from -45 sec respawn time to -50 sec respawn time"

Doesn't seem any more of a pain in the ass than "Hero strength growth reduced from 2.2 to 1.9" and "Mana cost rescaled from 10/15/20/25 to 15/20/25/30" and all the other shit. That's how Icefrog balances and every patch is just a long list of minor changes with a few big ones. I mean even that patch, remove all the talent shit, it's still -5 speed and -0.3 agility growth here and there.

i just wish the talent trees had more creative options. rather than shit like +200 health do shit like that is unique to each hero. right now it's basically just the level 25 talents that are specific to hero abilities.

The amount of talent isn't relevant? If Icefrog wants to change 20things about a hero, he didn't need talents to do that. The amount of things that can be tweaked increased, but the amount of things that will be tweaked isn't necessarily going to be higher. This patch is probably not a good example since it's the first patch right after the massive changes, so it probably has more changes than usual. Even then, it's still only 50changes compared to the 30 of 6.88b, after adding 900 more things that could have changed.

It does create two lines of changes rather than one when he tried to tweak the power curve of certain heroes at certain level by affecting talents instead of stats growth or level 3 ultimate or something like that. So the patch notes might be a bit bigger from now on everytime he does that, but for the most part it's gonna be the same. In the end it was always a long list of small changes. Shit was even a meme with the whole +1 armor literally unkillable comics.
