i watched a BBC or ITV doc on the situation a while back, has nothing to do with this other than that the claims were unsubstantiated.

I was pointing out the similarities between Cosby allegations and Jimmy Savile.
Both TV personalities, both famous for family TV, both dogged by whispers of sexual offences for years.
The point is, some people are saying "bill cosby? Nah, he'd NEVER do those things". Just like people said the same about Jimmy Savile, who also raised millions for charity, partly as a defence mechanism but also because it gave him access to hospitals and thus victims.
If you can't see the similarities, then you must be an idiot.
And the resulting investigation after Savile died, Operation Yewtree, demonstrated that it is possible to secure convictions for historical sex offences. Which again is relevant to this discussion, seeing as how people have been suggesting that too much time has elapsed
