You're confusing cases. Savile had ties to the establishment, he was knighted for his charity work and was close to Thatcher and the Royals. Whilst I'd love for the Royals to be brought down, there's no tangible evidence he was protected by anyone in govt
There is a similar but separate investigation into MPs and other government officials being part of a paedo sex ring, and whether a dossier of their names was buried. This is different to operation yewtree, which focused on historic sex offences by celebrities

the whole thing is fascinating to me to see how fast everyone has turned on him. there will never be a trial or anything because too much time has passed and at the ages of everyone you can easily poke holes in all the memories. but its great to see random useless Z-list celebs jump on the anti Cosby bandwagon. Just saw that the fat unfunny fuck from the daily show wrote an article for USA Today about how Cosby's legacy has "died" now, lol thanks for that opinion Mr. No Career.

If you take a pill someone gives you willingly, were you actually roofied? I mean, if you are open to being plied with alcohol and drugs (i.e. have given your consent to getting fucked up) then how do we even know it was a roofie and just some other, more mundane pill. Also, how did you know you didn't just make bad decisions while incredibly fucked up as opposed to being raped?

Actually, MJ's defense teamcompletely and utterly obliteratedthe prosecution. To this day there is no credible evidence that MJ abused any children sexually. It is a great and tragic shame. MJ was a weird, crazy dude but he was not a child molester.

This is a good point. The scenarios put forth sound kind of fishy. If they were over at Cosby's house drinking and hanging out, maybe the pills were some recreational drug they either requested or took as offered truthfully, they both got high and banged, then the woman came down and regretted the decision.
I'm not saying that definitely happened, I'm just saying it's plausible.

And in this case, they don't even have enough manufactured evidence to bring charges to trial, assuming they could find a state with no statute of limitations on rape, and a grand jury willing to charge him in the first place.

It is even simpler than that. We don't have to take anybody's fucking opinion. You don't get to find someone criminally guilty based on opinion. We get to look at the evidence to determine guilt, and so far all the real evidence is coming up Cosby.
