Do you have a link to a good source of all the accusations in full? The ones I've read have been fairly nebulous. I don't remember the name of the woman, but the recount I read basically said he invited her (a 19 yo) over to hang out, he made them a few drinks, he gave her a pill that she took willingly, and she blacked out only to awaken without clothes in his bed the next morning. If she said he told her it was Advil, that wasn't reported in the version I read. If so, then that changes how I feel about that situation.

It still is ridiculous to call him flat out guilty on just accusations, though. I have seen, literally, nothing that proves their stories or his. I'd love to have more information, but it doesn't seem to be available.

I will admit, these accusations are all eerily similar in their description. That makes it seem more likely that they occurred, but without real evidence how do you proceed?

I don't know anything about Vulture, that was a random google hit that looked like it encompassed the information you are looking for. I do know that that biographer had to work very hard to get a rare bibliographical interview with Cosby and probably was very limited in what he could talk about. I wouldn't call the omissionglaringbut as the substantiality of the accusations continues to climb, it's a fair critique to note that a biography doesn't include it.

A Jefferson biography can get away with not mentioning Sally Hemings, a Schwarzenegger biography would be expected to mention his exploits.

Besides the fact that none of the victim's stories I read even hinted that they thought they were taking recreational drugs (they either didn't take a pill at all or took something they were told was something else), you STILL can't have sex with someone who can not give legal consent. Yes, that includes girls who willingly compromised their ability to give legal consent. Heck, if you're at girl's apartment and she takes a roofie out of her own damned purse and swallows it in front of you and says "Do what you want to me", you better be sure she puts it in writing or something because you could very, very easily later be charged with rape.

Now, as has been pointed out, we're well past the point where anything can be proven. Cosby can't be charged or found guilty either way. I guess these women, who otherwise have nothing to gain, decided they wanted their stories to be known. The more about it I read the more likely it seems that Cosby actually was a serial rapist, and it breaks my heart to even put that in writing. I actually almost wish I hadn't read anything about it at all so I could continue to assume it's all bullshit.

Nothing to do with my mind. We've established the legality of all of this long ago. If someone can't give legal consent, then it's rape. Being super-fucked up on drugs and/or alcohol means legal consent can not be given. And yes, if anybody's going to be found guilty of this type of rape it has to be proven that the victim was super-fucked up.

If you aren't able to give legal consent and neither is the other party, you're both too fucked up to have sex anyway. If you can't give legal consent but the other party can, then you are the one being raped. No, not all drunk sex is illegal.

Any more questions? They have logical answers. You're not going to paint me into a corner here, I've been through all this already.

I have a problem with the idea that drunk + sex = rape and it's always the dude's fault. I just want to preface with that.

However, even if it isn't rape, if you, she or both of your are drunk (not buzzed, slurry drunk) and you aren't already dating... how about not having sex? Even if it isn't rape, it's not a good decision. Assuming both of you are ok with it the next day, maybe she forgot her pill, maybe you were incompetent as fuck with the condom or neither of you felt the need, maybe you didn't notice her herp outbreak, etc.

Lots of other bad things can happen when you mix heavy drinking and casual sex, besides regret/rape/whateverthefuck. Think twice.

Evans was found guilty and was recently released from prison.

I actually used to say the exact same thing about Michael Jackson at first. The difference was that some really shady shit started to come out about Jackson and his personal level of insane did nothing much to dispell the notion that he probably was having some sort of inappropriate relationship with children.

I even still think that it was just because he was so far gone down the rabbit hole of lifelong fame and being constantly surrounded by sycophants that Jackson did not understand why he should not have been doing what he was doing. You'd have to call him mentally incompetent. Not stupid, not even evil, just very very broken.

I can understand how there's a temptation to link it to Jackson or some British Anti-Mr. Rogers, but they really are different situations. Just the fact that you're having to resort to pedophiles to make an emotional case. Don't forget that even with Jackson, nothing was ever proven, and money was paid just to get someone to be quiet. I suppose in that way it's an analogy.

Are there no famous men that have been accused of rape in the history of the past 50 years that might be a better analogy?
