I hate that this is the news. I'm disgusted that this is the story of the moment and we all willingly and readily digest it. I'm guilty of that just like everyone else.
Whatever happened here, the result is awful and it's none of my business.
Personally I believe the world would be a better place if crimes of an individual, that have no bearing on the general public, were left out of public forums. Can you imagine
what that would be like?
Imagine if the news was only about things that actually effected you and not what entertained you.
Unfortunately that's not the world we live in, but if I was accused of a crime, you're sure as shit I would hope that everyone and there uncle didn't hear about it before I had a
chance to have a fair trial.
And if my name was smeared in public forums with unproven allegations, I would hope that people would ignore statements without facts and see the situation for what
it was and abstain from judgement until a verdict had been rendered or better yet, mind their own business.
We don't live in that world either.
Something terrible has happened, and it's not just the alleged crime or the alleged slander, it's that we've allowed ourselves to hunger for gossip and sensationalism.
This is a clear representation of news rape.
