The numbers for DAVG track similar to Star Wars Jedi Survivor, which had a peak of like 69k users on steam CCU. That game sold ~2m copies first month (all platforms) and over 10m copies lifetime to date. EA reported that game made ~$450m in revenue a while back during an earnings statement, and probably cost more than Dragon Age due to the Star Wars licensing fees.
This game is tracking slightly higher on steam than Jedi Survivor, and I'd guess more people are playing it on console than PC too. So sadly it will likely be decently profitable for EA, unless everyone stops buying it now. Its pretty easy to guess the budget is somewhere in the $150m-250m range, so even at the higher ranges it still probably makes a decent profit.
It would have had to launch to 10-20k steam CCUs to definitively be a huge flop, its not a massive success either on the level of Hellblade 2 or Black Myth Wukong but its likely going to make money because gamers are retarded.
CCUs are creeping up again on steam (74k at 1pm on saturday) and 76% of reviews are positive so steam PC gamers are possibly even more retarded.
This is probably a better comparison than many of the others mentioned because of the subscriptions factor that we have little insight into and erode the numbers that are publicly available in real time like CCU on Steam.
Currently peaking on Steam again:
