Yeah, I love how I keep seeing "Bioware's biggest Steam release" and "biggest single player" lines, when we all remember Origin. You ain't foolin us, son.

At least the full court press like this doesn't really work as well as it used to. I know I definitely got bamboozled by some games when younger cause there really was no counter narratives available. I'm sure it still works to some degree, but obviously people have been wising up to it slowly. I think the word of mouth has probably objectively kept this game from doing as well as it might have in the past. There's no way this game makes its money back the way things look now, which is great.
Yeah I know the popularity of video games journalism has taken a steep nosedive over the years, especially when it comes to the classic traditional gaming sites. Heck even sites like Metacritic have really taken I hit, seems like hardly anybody leaves reviews or goes there anymore. Critic scores and consensus seems to get mocked pretty hard by gamers as well, most people who are into gaming seem to know they're full of shit and totally biased, and they can only fail to relate to their audience for so long until the audience stops listening.

I know I got burned many times in the past by taking critics or popular consensus on sites too seriously, so much stuff that just doesn't appeal to most people will be highly praised by them. Either you have caught on by now and wised up to it or you're one of those gullible Kamala supporting types that is just an absolute tool.

The biggest demographic of fools is probably parents/grandparents buying games for their kids that just don't know anything about games past "my child has fun playing these!" I know I got some truly dumpster fire games from relatives when I was a kid. That's why I think the new addition of stuff like the LGBTP+ tag on the store page is effective for these people in particular. Someone like that will see that and stop to think "why?" and be much more likely to get info they'd normally miss. Obviously it wont stop/catch everyone, but each piece of the pie we take away from these people is a victory.

Ok so I just got back from trolling twitch. Holy shit. Every time I asked if someone saw the cut scene where they used the wrong pronoun and had to do ten pushups I got banned from the channel 😂

I’m pretty sure anyone streaming this right now is on the payroll. Everyone.

70-80K on steam is laughable for a AAA game like this one with a big name. Shit even Destiny 2, 9 yrs later, pulls in 250K when a big expansion drops.

Sorry my bad, 300K this past June when the big expansion dropped, FOR A 10 YR OLD GAME!!.
