What is Lethal Company? 😂
Pretty fun co-op game with your friends, but a very low budget indie game that will likely end up being more profitable than DA: Failguard.

I'm sure ossoi's onlyfans will be more profitable than gayguard.

I think it's safe to assume this turd has peaked, as far as concurrent players goes. I'm afraid we need quite a campaign if you want to see a taco go up an ass!

That target demographic already bought the game. We'll have to let it go.

Co-op game. You fly to planets and try to salvage stuff to sell (need to loot, bring back to ship, and have at least 1 person take off before time runs out). All the planets/locations have stuff trying to kill you with their own quirks (like monster dogs that can only find you by sound). If you don't make your sales quota, then the company terminates your employment (emphasis on terminate lol)

If you have friends and are all on voice chat, it can be a pretty fun and troll game

EA is going to have ROI numbers that each division is going to be expected to hit and then a a lower one that they are required to hit (probably).

Currently, they may be trending toward a large miss on their expected ROI and, if that happens, we can hope that they also miss the required ROI. I assume that's where most people in this thread are at. My (off the wall) guess is that EA requires more than hitting the break even mark (or going just a bit beyond it) for the required ROI on this one.

Without looking at all the companies that EA has ate over the years, I'd think that the Bioware name is on the short list of names that lasted the longest. I'm still (sorta) hopefully that next year finally sees them hang another skinsuit up in the closet, to never be seen again.

My game is more profitable. Sure it doesn't exist, but doesn't cost hundreds of millions either.

The numbers for DAVG track similar to Star Wars Jedi Survivor, which had a peak of like 69k users on steam CCU. That game sold ~2m copies first month (all platforms) and over 10m copies lifetime to date. EA reported that game made ~$450m in revenue a while back during an earnings statement, and probably cost more than Dragon Age due to the Star Wars licensing fees.

This game is tracking slightly higher on steam than Jedi Survivor, and I'd guess more people are playing it on console than PC too. So sadly it will likely be decently profitable for EA, unless everyone stops buying it now. Its pretty easy to guess the budget is somewhere in the $150m-250m range, so even at the higher ranges it still probably makes a decent profit.

It would have had to launch to 10-20k steam CCUs to definitively be a huge flop, its not a massive success either on the level of Hellblade 2 or Black Myth Wukong but its likely going to make money because gamers are retarded.

CCUs are creeping up again on steam (74k at 1pm on saturday) and 76% of reviews are positive so steam PC gamers are possibly even more retarded.

Is this the time to say, go check out Roguetrader instead of this mess? (get the dlc too, it adds to the base game well)

I was looking for some info on its costs/profit. heres some old news, which has some interesting stuff. back from feb. we knew it hit 500k sales right away. but never announced 1m+. so, sales for some reason must have dropped off. but, there is also this interview with the owlcat ceo dicussing games, AAA/AA bg3 etc. its in russian. its all about how they can't really afford the AAA gamble. he sets the price for what he considers AAA/AA. confirms RT and wrath were both "AA" price range. 5-15m investments.
at 400k sales in the first 2 weeks, RT hit a profit with $12million in sales. so RT was still profitable. (wrath must have been crazy profitable)

possibly. but think of the math on that.

like if we look at that owlcat interview.
  • AAA game — budget in the range of $50-70 million, expected revenue of $300 million (for the game to be considered successful)
Thats obviously correct. breaking even is not good enough. you need to make PROFIT.

200m investment.
Thats, 3.3million units sold at $60 just to break even. anything less then 7m units at 60$ is not hitting margins for investors.

I hate the narrative that Cyberpunk2077 was bad at launch. If you were playing on a fucking potato PS4 it was. On PC it had relatively few bugs.

The game is definitely better than launch, but to pretend launch was some pile of festering shit is laughable

I'm pretty sure I heard alot of bad word of mouth.

Looking at steam charts. cyberpunk hit 1m concurrent at release. crazy.
1m later in jan 225k. 2021
2m later in feb. 47k players. just a straight line down. all of 21 and 22 it sat at like 17-20 concurrent players.
small bump with Edgerunners in sept 22, back down to 20k players average all 23.
sept 23 2.0 update. huge player count increase. hit 250270k again, and has been averaging 50k concurrent ever since. pretty impressive really.

starfield.
330k at release. sept 23.
1m later in oct, 100k
2m later in nov, 37k
slow decline ever since, down to 7k now.

bg3.
875k at release. aug23 (note this was available prior due to EA, thus word of mouth, etc)
1m later 580k
2month later in oct 333k
3m later 200k
4/5m later dec/jan bump up to 300k again.
slow decline to 78k now.

Ok so I haven’t veil guard but have seen enough videos to know whatsup. Comparing this to launch cyberpunk is offensive. Cyberpunk hate was completely overblown at launch unless you were on a 10 yr old console. Cyberpunk is a classic example of how a few viral videos plus the internet can create these hate spirals that don’t mesh with reality. we need to be vigilant of having grades of retarded so we can reserve a special category for this like this

It was a semi-organized campaign by game "journalists" to unjustly smear the game. The fact that the studio is now completely infested with DEI trash is just a coincidence.
