yeah dull show, it copies Denis V's visual style but someone who isn't really great at it so it looks like a copy. I don't think Denis V would ever mix Cyberpunk with the Dune "nature" aesthetic.
That intro voice over was something else, I dug it but if you don't know much about Dune I don't see how a info dump of thousands of years of history and then a bizarre time skip 30 years would want you to keep going. They literally could have had an episode where they show the start of the machine war, the end of the jihad, the establishment of the Bene Gesserit, etc instead of a 5 minute voice over trying to explain it all. Especially since little happens in 70% of the first episode. Then they weirdly do a 30 year time skip!?!!? This so feels like a movie that got turned into a TV show.
I like Ragnar Lothbrook but his character is bizarre here, not sure if he is a Fremen spy or an AI agent. He literally can't do anything but one accent hahaha
Wonder if the guys with the blue eyes in RM's visions is the God Emperor or someone else in their contemporary time.
The biggest flaw with the show is its heavily leaning on Brian Herberts (son) books which are dogshit. They are clearly using major plot points from his book series.
