Sounds like this one will be another like House of the Dragon where I download it and then delete it two years later without ever watching it.
It is yet another clanger. Has absolutely nothing going for it.

Damn, this this has so much senseless mumbling. Cut out all the scenes with mumbling and this would be a silent movie.

That seems like a problem my wife and I have been noticing for at least a decade. Everything is super dark and you can't hear dialogue for shit.

It's something I thought might just be us getting older, except apparently tons of people noticed the same.

If I watch movies and shows nowadays, I turn on CC or subs, because like you said it's hard to hear what the hell they're saying, even with a pair of headphones.

I had an ex whose brother did something like that. He had a job at the VA doing some administrative nonsense. Felt like going on a long vacation to Southeast Asia. So one day, he just booked a trip and didn't show up for work. Got to Thailand and changed out his simcard so they couldn't call him.

Came back to the USA like 4 months later, collecting a paycheck the whole time of course. Then shows up to the office like nothing happened. His boss asked him where he was for the past 4 months. He said he had a mental health episode and wasn't able to do anything and going to treatments. They never followed up on this and just took his word for it. Nevermind that he never had any history of mental illness or anything like that and that he worked in the administration of a hospital with a mental health ward. Boss concluded that that was his business, glad to have you back. So he didn't get fired or reprimanded or anything.

He also convinced them that he would "show up at 7AM so he could leave at 3PM" but he just showed up a little before 9AM anyway and clocked his hours at 7AM then leaves the office at 3PM anyway. He still does this as far as I know.

Check your TV or receiver for a feature called Dynamic Volume or maybe Night Mode. Basically that feature brings the high and low volume sounds into a more median range. The net effect is you don't have to turn your TV up to 100 or use close captioning to follow dialogue.

Audiophiles and home theater purist will gripe that it takes away from the intent of the audio editing, but to your point I think many modern films do a shit job of it. More importantly there is no standard between media and streaming platforms so it is always an issue when you watch TV shows, sports, and movies on the same setup.

Wife had a hearing test say she was losing hearing at age 38.

Same problem as you describe. Go back and watch miami vice or whatever and she hears fine.

Fags can't seem to mix audio for shit

I'm having no problem hearing dialogue in anything AFTER making adjustments to my audio setups. For headphones, every device I watch media on has some USB DAC with simulated 7.1 sound. For the main TV, it's got the Samsung Q-Symphony that allows the TV speakers to work in sync with the soundbar and satellites.

I believe Prime has also added some dialogue enhancements to their app, wondering if HBO will do the same.

That's all there is to it. Other shows and movies sound fine. I don't get how people don't understand that mumbling is hard to hear. It's as if they all took enunciation lessons from Tom Hardy.

My hearing is definitely bad. Wife tries to talk to me sometimes and gets pissed that I'm not paying attention, sometimes that's on purpose, but most of the time is I just can't hear especially if it's out of my right side. I've had a lot of pretty brutal ear infections in that one, and the last time I had a doctor take a look at it they said make your drum is pretty much scar city from rupturing. Always had a problem with ear infections since I was a kid.

I'm sure as I continue to get older I'm going to end up having a good hearing aids. For now if I watch a movie on my computer, I've got my good headphones and turn on CC, and it works. CC there's also just helpful from I'm watching some British film, and the actors have extremely strong accents.

This show is bo-ring. They tried to make me pay attention to the dialogue by putting tits on screen and I still fell asleep.
Also, I know everyone is a fan of Vikings here but I hate that blue-eyed pube-bearded fuck. Everything he's in past Vikings is the same character; weird zealot with thousand-yard stare. The dude looks like he's reading off cue cards offscreen given how infrequently he actually looks a scene partner directly in the face.

Every showrunner that tries to copy GoT forgets that GoT had jokes.

I've seen the first 3 episode and I keep asking myself, "Is this good?"

It's not bad, but I can't help but admit if it was not in the Dune universe, it would never get my time.
