Rogier is doomed unless you read a guide early on. You need to view his bloodstain in the basement of Stormveil, where the face of Godwyn and the Ulcerated Tree Spirit are before progressing his quest line. This allows you to keep him alive to see the curse mark. That said, with him dieing, you can give it to Fia if you have done her questline up to that point. Which is talking to her while hugging and giving the dagger to D so she kills him. She then has more dialogue after the Tree Depths battle. You can then reload the area and enter her dream, or Godwyn's dream more specifically, where he relives his battle against the Lich Dragon. Win that and Fia will die and birth a Death Rune, that you can use for a different ending.

Ah yea he got to see the curse mark and everything and told me to go infiltrate Ranni's crew, which I did, but he still died? Maybe there isn't a way to save him?

Radahn is FUCKING aggressive!!! Doing fairly decent on his first phase until the meteors come and I've only made it to phase 2 twice, both times I've died within seconds.

Sticking to my usual melee-only no summons or ashes but damn is this frustrating. Think I'm gonna grind while I explore and come back around lvl 65+, might give me a better shot. I should also look for more churches to upgrade my flasks again, with 31 vigor I only heal about 65% or so with my current HP. Can't wait to kill that mofo!

Use anything with Scarlet Rot, he is very weak to it. Although if you don't want to abuse the summons and just want to face tank him... I don't know if I have any real advice for you. That is a very tough order. While I am sure it is possible, it's not the way the fight is really designed.

You mean he saw the Knife Print? The curse mark is after you have done Ranni's entire quest line. But yeah, you need to view his blood stain in Stormveil before talking to Ranni he will die early. Although now that I went back and scoured the internet a little, it seems he will die regardless before you can show him the Curse Mark. Probably because it is meant for Fia.
.

Also, Leyndell is fucking enormous. I seriously have no idea which way to go there is so much to explore.

Finally stopping exploring and focusing on leveling, I am so far behind everyone else, still at level 20 with my spellblade. I haven't been using Summons ashes because I thought there was a mechnical problem putting them in the pouch. When I was watch Dr Disrepect play he had no issues, so I went back today and looked and realized I never had the encounter with Renna on this character. Tried to trigger it but seemingly once you go to the Roundtable Hold, (which I did in the first few hours on this character) you are locked out of meeting her for the whole game? From is fucking serious about your ability to blow up whole questlines early on, I guess. Anyway, I went to the Two Sisters and bought the Bell, so now maybe I can start moving a little faster through content, although I am not going anywhere fast. I have tons of the map unlocked though. Maybe once I level up some more I can continue getting gud.

Yeah I know it's possible but definitely not the intended way, just refusing to use those summon marks on the ground for my own dumb principles. Will try to imbue my weapon next attempt and see how that goes, I know I can do it, but the window for dodging seems pretty tiny.

I'm starting to think Tuco's use of pedals is low key genius. My fucking hands get sore with the amount I hold down sprint in this game. Not to mention looking around while sprinting is huge.

Also that gargoyle fight is brutal.

Don't disagree with this. Using the summons on the ground and he was super easy for me. Killed him second try just by running up behind him and timing fully charged attacks while the expendable army was tanking him

Feel like I cheated myself out of a cool boss fight

The ghost torch?! Sheeeeeeeeeeeet
Sentry's Torch, 99% sure I bought it off a vendor a long time ago, no clue where though.

Edit: I'm not sure it even helps for the assassins you're describing but I haven't found any other use for it yet either.

Alright murder it is then
Sounds like this is the path to the "bad" ending but I dont' even care anymore. If I do another playthrough I think i'll spoil the entirety of it and carefully do the quests in the precise order that the From requires. The game is at least a 9/10 for me but there are elements that are extremely annoying story-wise, like finding an NPC i've never met and my character knew to give it a whole set of armor I previously found with zero supporting dialogue. Iiterally find NPC sitting against wall, walk up, press talk, only option is to give armor. Da hell you doing From? how could my character possibly know to give it specific armor, or any armor at all? And then what do I get from it? Absolutely nothing that I can tell, but I'm sure it advances some esoteric quest that I'll find out about as I read spoiler sites later.

So has anyone found a somber [7] before mid/late game? Really annoying to be carrying around multiple 8 and 9 with no way to use them.

I just found my first from the hand tarantula outside dung eaters cell in the sewers under leyndell. Not sure if it is the earliest or if I am even supposed to be in the area I found further down from the sewers yet lol. I don't want to screw up any quests so i think I'll leave for now. It just kept going deeper and deeper after the boss...

the pedals are useful but more for fun. Personally I don't feel comfortable with joystick camera controls or WASD character movement, so the fusion of the two of them really makes the game enjoyable in ways that previous dark souls weren't.

I always wanted to try foot pedals for a game like wow where i had a million keybinds. More for like another shift/control if anything or maybe on ohshit button.

maybe do a big toe peddal for each foot and a heel. maximize FPS (feet per second)
