Moonveil switches to dex scaling B at +10, so it's worth noting that when you're at 20 dex and 60 int, 5 more points into dex is +11 phys dmg while 5 more points into int is only 6 points of magic dmg. Not sure how it affects Transient Moonlight though, I don't actually have an ancient somber stone so I can only see the stats at the blacksmith.

Also it's crazy but even the regal staff doesn't beat meteorite at 60 int until you have the mats to take regal to at least +7. And even then it's just barely ahead, you really need to take it to +9 to notice much difference. (Edit: At 72 int, the gap is much wider even at just +7, like over 30 points higher. Seems like the real problem is that staves aren't great at the min int req'd to equip, and really only shine once you're well above the min.)

I can’t seem to get Radahn. Given how shitty my npcs are and how little damage they do, I’m really confused how some of you said he got wrecked before he could even P2.

Oh, also decided to try multiplayer coop for the first time, nothing but “unable to summon cooperator” or whatever. Neat.

It took me about 5 tries for radahn, and took my retarded brain like 3 of those to stop trying to get on my horse right away. The summons don’t do much damage, but they distract him away from pressuring you too much. I was around level 55 for him and didn’t have much trouble, but again transient moonlight is kinda dumb

I’ve dumped 15 tries into him and only made it to p2 maybe 5 times. Got him to 25% once, that’s it. Not really much desire to use that katana that you all are saying is stupid OP...

Moonveil is definitely very strong vs Radahn just cause you can L2 for a fair bit of damage and run away immediately and play it as a poke fight rather than having to commit to any chain of attacks to get in any real damage.

You can still play the fight like that with nearly any weapon or ash, it just depends how fast your chosen move is and when you pick your timing to get in and slap him.

I think using the horse is 100% bait in that fight and you're way better off on foot.

You fighting him from the horse or on foot? I had a lot of trouble with him too, when my build was all over the place and maybe underleveled. I had the most luck fighting him from horse tho and I got lucky in p2 when he was at like 40% I had an opening to dps and in the middle of that I guess one of those npcs parried him or something because he got stunned, got a bleed proc and burst him down. prob took me like 30+ tries

I just upgraded my bow and shot him to death on horseback. Used the horseback damage/bow damage/bow range talismans with bleed arrows.

If you have help the last person to hit the boss has aggro. You can use that knowledge to hit and run, just have to avoid the AoEs.

Got him to 10% my first try and then I didn't kill him until probably 25+ tries. I felt like a lot of it was luck and what moves he decided to do, and how your NPCs decide to attack. I had attempts where the NPCs absolutely walloped him and some where they just stood around dieing. Try and do as much damage in P1. The kill attempt I pushed him into P2 at around 25%.

Unless you're ranged I wouldn't fight on horse. Always roll into his attacks.

It really does seem that P2 is time gated, when I got a lucky moveset where I got behind him 2x pretty much back to back, he didnt do the meteor thing until around 35%, but of course I panic rolled and got 2-pieced and died.

Heading home from my parents but that fucker is dying tonight if I have my way. Solo melee is definitely doable once you are confident with his moveset, just wish I didnt have to do the run up past his spells and arrows every attempt.

I got tired of melee after several phase 2 fails and just killed him with Rock Sling and Carian Greatbow (in P2 when I needed extreme range) from horseback.

Spoilerish tactics on how to kill him w/o needing to respec:
He is "weak" to rot and/or frost. Anyone (outside of one starting class, Prisoner maybe(?)) can cast the dragon breath spells by using the trinket that increases all stats, plus the trinket that increases just faith. Then buy rot breath from the dragon temple in the south of the rot lake zone (Caelid).

As a glass cannon Astrologer, I sprayed him with rot, then ran away on my horse. The npc summoning stones all respawn, so I just kept clicking them back up when they died. At about 40%, I had to run in and rot breath again. The phase two void spray one shot me once, and the huge fire slam got me a time or two as well.

I read that melee can put frost on a weapon, so, after they rot breath from horse, you can stand under his back foot and build up frost too, so he takes more dmg from all attacks.

Is this good?

Also what's up with Vitality? It isn't a stat. I thought it meant Vigor for a while but apparently Vitality is also raised by Arcane?

I'm up to Melania and failed miserably at that fight a bunch. Going after Fire Giant now

Is there something I'm missing in sellia crystal tunnels somewhere or are they really trying to say I have to sneak through the tunnels every time I want to attempt fallingstar beast?

Yes, I kicked the ladder down

You shouldnt really have to sneak, you can beeline for that ladder you knocked down and make it to the boss without getting hit at all once you learn the route.....at least it worked for me, still haven't beaten the boss yet but I was like level 45ish when I tried.

I'm up to Melania and failed miserably at that fight a bunch. Going after Fire Giant now, guy has a metric ton of HP and starts taking like 1/4th damage in his last phase.

Vitality is a resistance stat basically, If you hit Y or triangle on your stats menu you'll see it in the bottom right along with immunity and focus and some others. Each of those resists is what is checked for different ailments/detrimental effects. Vitality is I think bleed and frost resistance? Or maybe bleed and death, I forget how it all breaks down.

Pearldrake boosts all your elemental resists basically, so holy/lightning/fire damage etc. It can be situationally very strong depending on the enemies in a particular area, but isn't something I'd just wear around all the time.
