I got one in the underground city you go to after Radahn. Thunk it dropped off of the first big centipede thing that you see that throws lightning rocks at you.

The Bros in Roundtable Hold:
So the guys in there are all on the same quest as you but Gideon the All-Knowing doesn't acknowledge you as a brother of the hold until you get Godrick's Rune. He says that the Two Finger room is open to him too.

I'm doing the far-north Haligtree part of the gsme to get the super katana. This is a side area and it's SO HUGE. Literally the size of a DLC from another Soulsborne game.
It's structured just like a DLC, too. Get an obscure key item out in the world, defeat a tough optional boss, gain entry through an obscure portal, go through several large linear areas to reach a big final fight and be rewarded with a tremendous weapon. It even had a Reindeer Fuckland style blizzard field.
I think this might have been intended to be a DLC and they just went "F it we have time to get it done for release"
What a tremendous goddamn game

Found a good levelling area early.
Near the 3rd Church of Marika there's a teleport portal to a higher level area, you get telegraphed there from a quest from the hub area to give grave moss or something to some beast guy, so it may even be marked on the map in red.
You are teleported behind a boss which is easy to ignore, behind you is a save point with the quest NPC in it.
Anyway if you go around the boss to the left or right there's hooded enemies which are often alone or can be pulled individually, pretty easy to stagger and kill with a Rapier or spell spam, though they do a lot of damage if they manage to hit you. I'm lv25 fighting them.
1000 runes each which is incredible for the first zone.

If you want to do a hybrid type build I'd just go moonveil; I used the guide linked here earlier and it's nuts. 100% going to get nerfed so may as well jump in beforehand!

I’ve been using moonveil since it was the best option for a melee weapon to go along with sorcery build. Turns out that I played myself, moonveil is so much better than actually using sorcery that I hardly use it at all anymore except to kill range attackers I can’t get to.
Just finished Ranni quest line, can use the MLGS now but I doubt it’s as good as moonveil which is dumb given the stat requirement differences

I’m currently working on that build myself. I got the moon veil katana last night and just need to acquire the other items. Plus I need open up respeccing cause I have too much dexterity and not enough intelligence points for the build.

Yeah I went back to moonveil even after getting hand of malenia. Transient moonlight is too good and waterfowl dance kinda sucks imo
