Think the fact that magic can be upgraded it would make sense to have it start out weak and eventually upgrade spells to OPness, but my first build is definitely going to be str based melee only with no summons / magic / summon items.

Every stream Ive watched, people are using summons and that dragon breath shit. Ive seen very little melee combat, though Ive only watched high viewer count stuff. I figured I'd do a dex build for a bit and see how it goes.

Probably cause the world on the CNT was so tiny , there wasn't that much shit too look around at, even the people who got out of bounds from the small area said there wasn't anything out there except some random mobs..

Thought it was the opposite. Only watched one but the guy was saying the available area was huge and was supposed to just be a tiny part of it which is why I was surprised it's only supposed to last around 30 hours

One of the articles that came out this last week touched on that. The main game is about 30 hours, but the areas are huge because the game has a shit load of optional side content you can discover. Think of it kind of like BoTW. Sure you can beat the game in like 10 hours or whatever, but there is so much extra content that most of us spend 60-80+ doing some of it while we run the main quest line.

Good, that's what i was hoping for. The side quests in the previous games have been a small fraction of the main quest but if there's twice as much side content as main then I'll be happy

They've been doing the "optional" or "side quest" content for like.. all of their games. Bunch of shit you can just outright skip. Though I know quite a few players that outright think they have to do this one boss just to be able to beat these games. One of the few game series where Ive watched youtube videos of people fighting bosses to learn exact parry moments etc. in order to beat them and since there are so many optional bosses, it actually adds a shit load of content to the souls / souls like games.

DS3 i can think of Archdragon and Consumed Kings Garden/Champion Gundyr then a couple of fire bosses, but that's maybe 5 hours at most

I had a lot of fun on the network weekend utilizing the multiplayer features. Always a hoot to watch a rando get demolished while you watch the mechanics script out so you can just save the day.

I'll be in this world for sure and hope I can balance it out between my ff14 savage team and TLP Mischief raid nights to learn the early secrets before the nerf bats swing.
