Do all the larval tears respawn in NG+?
If you don't want to do spoilers, a good early weapon is the claymore from Castle Morne far to the south of Limgrave. Its decent damage at that point in the game and delivers good stagger, without the lethargic speed and wonky hit boxes of curved greatswords. Also make sure you scour all of Limgrave for every cave and mine, so you can pump up some of the weapons you will be getting showered with in the Academy Lake area.I’m at 49. Working toward Raya Lucretia or whatever the fuck hog warts is called. I’m still rocking bloodhound fang but I might respec to a block build. I still love the block shit. Can ride a brass shield plus some sword for a long time. I’m enjoying my 2H though. I do need some ranged shit that’s reliable though.
If you dont care about mainhand weaponarts, the Jellyfish shield (which is actually a greatshield) is really solid. I like the shield you get from the Academy, as its really good against Magic damage, but its dogshit vs Lightning and Holy, making it fall behind the Brass Shield later on. Fingerprint is awesome (many of the Greatshields are) but require a bit commitment to STR and END to use. So yeah Brass Shield, which you can get in the first area of mobs, is probably the best medium shield in the game all around. For a medium shield? probably not. Other options are fingerprint shield (heavy) and Buckler (light), or something like jellyfish shield to buff damage.
I sort of minored as a caster on my main, but the magic shot (even pre-buff) is just so good I really only cast Fly Cloud or Flame Cleanse since I have had it. And I am still pumping INT, so I probably SHOULD be tossing spells. The damage scaling with the thing at +9 or +10 off the INT stat is crazy good, like four per in the 40-55 range most of the time. And they just fixed its biggest issue, powering it back up mid fight, on top of making it cheaper to buff. The thing is a monster and I cannot believe they buffed it even more. When you use the MLGS do you all use spells/staff too or just the sword? Seems like the total opposite of my current setup but might be fun to try.
Also tried to get the equipment load talisman from the jar with 3 invasions. They straight up deleted me. At least some of the guys attacking, got one down out of three at best. Seems out of reach, I know you can exploit it but I usually die before I can set that up![]()

I have that claymore, just haven’t upgraded it. I’ve enjoyed the move set of bloodhound a lot. I found treespear which I saw some running with mid game shields and spells. At this point I’m committed to using a phys build for a bit.If you don't want to do spoilers, a good early weapon is the claymore from Castle Morne far to the south of Limgrave. If you don't mind spoilers, you should be able to nab Moonveil by now (and the Naginata which is a very fast spear type weapon that meshes great with shields early on), particularly if you have the bird summon leveled up a bit for the boss. Moonveil, even in its nerfed state, can carry you quite a ways through the game. Assuming you don't want to invest in any casting stats, the Claymore is probably a solid choice for a bit and there are a couple decent early bows you can grab in the underground of Sofia River you access from the woods in east Limgrave (near Baird and the two rape bears) that can act as ranged support for you. The Horned Bow, in particular, is probably the best bang for the buck in the game, considering the stat investment required, how early you can get it, and its damage. If you really love two handing, though, get gud enough to kill the Elder Tree Guardian and get the gold halberd from him. Despite the very steep STR requirement, it is a powerful weapon that can carry a two hand or poke and board player a long ways through the game.
My only real complaint about the DMGS honestly was the moveset. The power up window sucked, but I dont PvP so its not as bothersome to me. I mean, my builds always end up this way on first run souls games, but nothing in my arsenal hits as hard as this weapon and the standard R1 sweep swing is just fine for most everything in the game. Plus the Guard Counter from it is brutal as fuck.It was a LITTLE BIT OFF from the other Uber weps. Now there's no more whining I'd hope.

Friend of mine might get this if we can co-op it (his first Souls game). Two questions:
Can a level 1 player team up with a level 255 player?
Can it be done via a private network where we aren't invaded constantly?
If all else fails I guess I could just start over. Could also twink him with a katana to make the early-game doldrums more fun for a noob.
Yes, when using the password system (As I understand it) soul level does not matter. It will scale your stats down to match your friend's level I believe.Friend of mine might get this if we can co-op it (his first Souls game). Two questions:

FixedPoint 2, I do not believe that is doable so you will just have to fucking git gud fgts.
Early game doldrums? Wtf. That was the best experience of it all.
Point 2, I do not believe that is doable so you will just have to suffer through invasion.
