As far as my rips on McQuaid, it was because he was coming to the FoH forum to talk about, quite literally,content that did not exist he said was in the game. My sources? Various internal employees that couldn't believe what the hell they were reading. As far as Schilling, same thing. And oh, hey Duppin, you need a little memory refreshing. Schilling didn't start posting here regularly until he formed Green Monster Games. Everything else was hit or miss at best about 10 posts. Get off it.

You know what would be best for everyone? Other than burning this entire industry to the ground and starting fresh? Just having folks be transparent about their product, get rid of company employees posting under pseudonyms (This thread is* FULL *of that) and get back to doing two things. 1) Talk about your product and be excited about the game you are making, but be real about it/prepared to answer questions honestly without the spin. 2) Get rid of the fucking idiots on this forum that think some developer posting 90% spin/conjecture/marketing/bullshit should be accepted as solid content and posters should be able to see through it.

How about it just doesn't happen Mkopec/Peechka/whatever other forum handles you have here on Rerolled and SA? I just hope that "console" doesn't fuck up the UI and interaction too much. The first try for FFXIV was just horrid in this regard(ie taking 5+ steps through menus to do something). Even the current re-boot you can see the way console adaptation effects the UI and other interactions(like giving a npc something).

The real thing to think about is why WOULDN'T you buy one of the few monitors that actually escapse the stagnant 1920x1080 res.

don't do it, 4k monitors are pretty much right around the corner (there are already a few out) and vastly superior to these. The 4k prices right now are around $3k for 30" but should drop to $1500 and less by end of the year, with a big new crop released in January at CES 2014.

If you absolutely need something new try one of the korean 2560x1440, 27" 120hz beauties. They are absolutely magnificent and running around $400, +/- 50.

Gtx 460 will do just fine.

My old rig running a 9800gtx+ with a phenom x4 920 can even run it on minimal settings.

Also, if you are playing any FPS games I seriously recommend a Benq monitor w/ lightboost. Shits cray.

The 4k arn't coming down until like 6 months from now. I feel you on the 450$ but going from 27 to 30 is actually pretty noticeable. I wanted a new setup back in feb when I built this rig but used my old monitor video card and hd. Pushed the video card and monitor back as far as possible, there's no way I can wait another 6-8 months lol.

DCUO was okay - not great, not even good, but acceptable. I expect something similar. The biggest problem (and I can't remember who mentioned this first about EQN, maybe Quaid?) is that since the console UI is locked the PC gets locked down too. At least, I don't remember being able to change much about the DCUO except the current loadout.

And that brings us back to a comment Agraza or Zehn made years ago about MMO default UIs in general about how terribly stupid it is to have everything you want to see all over the place - map upper right, combat info upper left, hotbar down low, etc. So your eyes have to scan all over the monitor to gather info whereas a good MMO UI would put everything in one corner/side (say everything on the bottom).
