I think its safe to say this title is controversial as fuck at this point. I'd like to think their round table will have a positive impact on the direction the final launch version will take, but I can easily see two scenarios disrupting this hope

1. They will continue with vapid, softball topics that they put up for debate, with loaded, one sided voting selection options (See the ratonga poll options), and not allow independent discussion or debate (As is the case currently.)

2. It will become a bipolar power struggle between camps of

-Mechanic X is going to discourage community, and could be better implemented by considering Y

vs

-It's fine lol launch it now

I think a lot of us are going to be waiting a very long time for something to come out besides this, so we might as well give it a shot right?

This is exactly what I am talking about.

It may seem very minor to some , but to me raises a serious concern about the powers to be's overall judgement.

To make gnomes "possible" , but then use that god awful Kerran to introduce your game is just something I don't think even the most rose colored glasses viewer could spin into something logical.

Sure, but people need to be realistic with their expectations. They have a idea already on what they want this game to be, and who they want it to appeal too. Changes will be made off player feedback, but don't think for a second that they will completely reverse course and make this a EQ1 remake just because a vocal minority is screaming at them on a few forums. For every person who cries for the game to be hardcore they will have a bunch more shouting that person down and asking for the game to remain accessible.

The key has been, and always will be compromise. Pick battles that are actually winnable. Otherwise it is just noise.
