could simply be a reorganization prompted by who knows what (release of their biggest title to date).I'm trying to figure out what's going on here..has SoE been running games in the red? They get thier budget slashed? Or both?

Who are these "fans" though? It's a PR stunt. They want to make their fans feel involved, and they want them to stay interested.
It was just a general statement really. By fan I merely meant anyone who is interested in the game enough to follow it this early and post about it on their forums or partake in their polls.Who are these "fans" though?
Old EQ players? They do not seem to cater too much to them.
To me, it seems more like a fishing contest for new people where they open up a massive net and drag the sea to catch as much shit as possible. People who have followed them long enough are nowhere near the net. They are in forums like this one going /facepalm at every other statement issued by the various devs.
The only people who can be even remotely impressed at the round tables or feel that they have any sort of creative involvement in the game must be very new to mmos, hence nobody who would be considered a "fan". By fan, I then define that as a person who is knowledgeable and liked their previous product(s), as I do not see how you can be a fan of something that does not exist yet.
NCSoft and Blizzard employees trolling the questionnaire maybe? It was just a general statement really. By fan I merely meant anyone who is interested in the game enough to follow it this early and post about it on their forums or partake in their polls.
There are definitely fans of games that aren't released yet, but they might not meet your definition of the word. I believe they are called pre-release fanboys, or simply redditors.
If only we had the technology to made a game where you can do both. Humanity is not ready for such a gift. And only the same amount want the complete opposite. It's doomed my friend. Doomed.
That actually only represents one vote but one Jeff Butler vote counts for thousands of peasants.![]()
almost 20% of us literally want to play a game which does not ask of you to or require you to actually play the game
Those people have SP and MP games - it's what those games are for.![]()

They need to do something to their PR department. I was watching all kinds of News from Gamescon and will guess PAX will be the same.... NOTHING on EQN/EQN-L, not even a blip on the radar of any sort on my news feeder apps about it. When I have to look up info from the shitty browser app on the phone to find anything, this is a problem!I'm trying to figure out what's going on here..has SoE been running games in the red? There are many people who should be fired at SOE. Starting with Smed. But yes the entire Marketing department should go. Omeed is an idiot and the chick who runs Sales & Marketing is a an empty suit. They need to do something to their PR department. I know there is limited info allowed but they need to do something to get a spin on things, if Project Jabberwocky can tell sooo much without showing nothing. They should be able to do the same!
Not getting out to the Non-EQ crowd is going to kill them. Small startup companies can get away with niche word of mouth crowd, they arent caring multiple dead games on their back to support. Bred outside the gene-pool once in awhile!
You did a complete 360 from around the time of SOE Live. What changed your mind so much? Was it the posters here, or a certain bit of info that you learned and didn't know before? Just curious.I like to sum up the problems with SOE with the thought that Vanguard, as buggy as it was, was a far, far better game at release than now 6 years after SOE's care.
Landmark, if it is successful, will be a fluke (as the game wasn't planned) and EQ Next, if it is successful, will be because of the SB AI and Voxel tech, both of which are from Indies.
-_-
I've never liked the executive team at SOE and I've always stated my preference for old-school classes not the MOBA classes. The only thing I've changed was I've gone from not knowing who Omeed was to disliking him now that I've seen him in action. You did a complete 360 from around the time of SOE Live. /facepalmWhat else would you would want gamers to know about Storybricks?
We just want to keep expectations at a reasonable level and drive down the hype. We have seen some posts suggesting things that would be impossible in 10 years time and others that are possible but it would be very disruptive to have in a multiplayer game with a persistent world.
