Someone posted this image Reddit, and I think it's a good point. Both were made in 1994, one's style stands the test of time, the other is just kind of comical now.
I think graphics have reached the point where pushing the graphical boundaries can stand the test of time quite a bit better than before, but stylized art will always be timeless.
