Summary: We really have no idea how we're gonna do this yet.
Thank goodness it's fun to build shit, cause everything else really does appear to be ideas on napkins right now.
EQN Online Adventures??Although we haven?t specifically made any announcements, we will be bringing our major stuff over there [on PS4], including Everquest," Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley told IGN. "We?re not talking exactly about what it would be, but let?s just say it would closely resemble Everquest Next.?
A mod made a poll iirc and the vast majority said no, keep it all in one thread. I voted separate also, but what can you do.next and landmark should be split into two separate threads I think. they really are two different games, any interactivity aside. Especially as landmark gets closer.
My question is, will the combat, destructibility, and AI of 'Next' truly be great. Because it all has to be Great, not good, but great.
I thought it was because "Sup guys. Let's talk about this."Soooooooo, they make videos now to just openly say "we have no fucking idea" ?
Paying for an advantage is the foundation of free to play games. Doy.I stopped following EQN shortly after their "No moar Trinity" jazz so I'm just trying to catch up. I thought Landmark was just build tools and was confused why people were paying for it. That's all. Well and some jabs at those would would pay for such a thing.
I don't think things will be lump sum like that. Most likely its built around how many players use it/buy it and then its on a % base. Which will probably be the low end, like 10-20%.It isnt hard to imagine them paying players for really excellent content they do in landmark and putting it in EQN. Would paying a player $5000.00 for an actualized raid dungeon be that far fetched? Im sure it would save them alot on overhead and create a situation where players are climbing all over themselves to create really incredible stuff. Win/Win
Way too late for that. Just look at the EQ store for EQ housing for a lot more monetizing. Housing/Building is such a huge opportunity to literally sell anything for $. Anything that is good/cool you have to buy with more $ or they come from their TCG packs(which I wouldn't be shocked if the TCG isn't rolled into EQ:N and Landmark also) and also from "packages/vet awards".I asked for Mistmoore Castle.. who knows..
So I keep thinking about this EQL stuff and what benefits there might be to early entry.. I dunno... the stuff that seems to be able to make you money really comes from what you design.. your location won't matter much.. I wish they would of rolled out more info before they put those packages out there.. but maybe that's why?
So I keep thinking about how crazy this really is.. $100 to test an alpha.. We are paying them to "help" them test their game? WTF is going on here lol.. then we help them build content for EQN which they save money on and figure out additional ways to nickle and dime us.. Seriously.. this FTP thing is only going to get worse lol.. it plays on our gamer desires way too much.. Sweeten the pot and throw EQN alpha in there at least.. Fuck we all need to stop encouraging this kind of shit.
As someone who has sold their account in games where real estate is both a permanent feature in the world, and a limited resource, I can assure you that your plot has value. I've seen accounts with property in the right places in games sold for 5 figures. But ya, if you don't plan on selling your account ever I guess it has no real value.I asked for Mistmoore Castle.. who knows..

Eh. The grand absurdity of the roundtable has been that they've been asking for feedback on things that they've already settled internally. Actually asking for opinions at a point in which said opinions could be taken into account during development is a nice change of pace. We'll see if they'll actually use it at all.Summary: We really have no idea how we're gonna do this yet.

Based on what they said it sounds like:Summary: We really have no idea how we're gonna do this yet.

Idk... Don't pay for it. They aren't forcing you to do anything. Wait a year and play it in gold version for free. I paid the 100.00 to get access, but I won't be submitting feedback or doing anything other trying to build as much of Rome circa 100 AD as possible. Nor am I building content for them. They wanna buy my shit... Cool... But I'm not taking orders.I asked for Mistmoore Castle.. who knows..
