People mentioning Citizen, OGC, AoS, Triton, any of that shit are usually red flags. None of those guilds really mean anything to anyone on TLP's anymore as we've had people from all those guilds, including leadership, be complete dumpsters.

I'd rather people have started EQ in 2022 than have to hear some retard's comment about how "Dima would do things."

I don't know how you guys did this before with a classic launch. Shit is boring as hell. I've never lasted past the first like 2 weeks and even with Kunark, whew boy, this era is dull af. Wake me up at GoD I guess.

No wonder half of Faceless leadership is still apparently raiding on mischief. That's smart. I'm in the mood to play EQ but there's no EQ to play.

Anyone who has played a TLP before can tell you the long end of kunark is a slow burn.

I warned everyone weeks ago to take it easy and not rush but I also know, nobody is going to actually take that advice lol

It is what it is, start an alt, do an epic you haven't done before. Otherwise, yeah you're going to run out of shit to do real quick if you're already 60 and strictly raiding.

I did a bunch of farming, which was fun for a while. But now that's boring too, particularly because there's so few items that matter with the tower. And with truebox I have no great motivation to box. I'm tempted to just roll some chars on mischief. But really I'll probably just play other games and raid log 2 nights a week.

My issue is that when I don't log into an mmo every day, I often just quit. That's been the pattern for a really long time. I haven't been a one game andy in a really, really long time. Not that I need EQ to be my only game, but yeah I usually don't log back in if I don't log in every day. Really I'm just a casual gamer these days.

I just don't understand how a bunch of people made it past classic all the other times, or even kunark or hell even velious. At least with Luclin you can grind aa's and bank aa's. Does everyone just go dormant until a new expansion comes out? is that the natural cycle of things?

fuck truebox sideways tho.

Yeah dude, Kunark start is so much better than Classic start. It's a wonder it took this long to try grouping them together.

Seems like you're talking about me here, but I was just mentioning how Phinny people made a meme out of "Back on Fippy" because it came up so often. And Triton did make good videos back in the day. Well, you do you.

Personas and alts seem to be where people are going now that a ton of epics are out of the way.

Only thing I'd rush is the leveling to get it out of the way. Other than that you're just running out of stuff to do that much sooner. A few of these expansions are going to be real wastelands of content in their final month too. TBS is essentially one crazy first day and then two months of almost nothing, not even new AAs. A few chase weapons can keep people engaged (Ball of Sunlight, etc) once a week but yeah.

Nothing wrong with going dormant unless you disappear entirely. I expect Teek to have huge surges at expansion launch. There was one server, can't remember which, maybe Agnarr, where I logged in on the day of PoP launch to take a look at it and there were like 800 people in Bazaar piled up against the PoK zone line waiting for it to unlock. Was one of the craziest things I've seen in EQ. So many people that you could actually slide down the pile like a giant human mosh pit.

Theres significant attrition by the 1st month of classic, which is about right now for teek. I don't think it's really a content thing, more of most people lose the hype a month in, regardless of content or game.

Eq relies heavily on social interaction, those who don't burn out and make it through tend to find a healthy social relationship that keeps them logging in. While it's true, you can achieve the end game within just a few weeks, it's very common to have a plethora of guild mates still progressing towards their goals and helping them with fights or leveling new characters or even power leveling them can fill the void left by achieving everything one can do on any single character. I would say if you're feeling like there isn't any reason to log in, it's because you were a bit anti social on the 1-60 adventure.

Hell you can do an experiment, log in tonight and just ask in guild or even general chat if anyone needs help doing something and see what happens, I think you'll be surprised.

Quarm (the event server from 2017), Discord, Vaniki, Miragul and the 51/50 server Mayong were all disappointments but Tormax could have the worst day one week one month one in the game's history.

What happened with Mayong? I went there but I somehow ended up on Maelin really soon after but I have no recollection of it. Don't think I've ever paid for a server transfer. Or maybe my Maelin era was before Mayong actually. I have no idea.
