Tower was def a major blunder but was sort of funny to watch it happen as a person not too invested in things.
Overall I feel like the "hype" for TLP EQ has really gone off a cliff in recent years. I don't know if it's just me but it feels like the energy in the community is much lower than it was back in the Phinny and earlier eras. Even Selo has a ton of hype surrounding it. Now people barely discuss new TLP in discord or on the forums.
I think it wouldn't be a bad idea if we saw a few years without new TLP releases. Let some of the other servers mature and age off while giving the game space to rebuild some enthusiasm and anticipation in the playerbase.

Agreed I had so much fun playing with AoS and Faceless.
I will say watching the drama go on early in Teek with all that shit talking was the best part. What happened did RI quit?

After getting smashed in like 73 of 90 races in Velious they came into Luclin and could never mobilize a credible DPS race force again. Never won any races in Ssra, and only won a single race in VT the entire expansion iirc. In PoP they never showed up at all.
I think it’s a boxer guild now where it functions more like a small man than a traditional guild and they all suck their own dicks about “loot per capita” because they’ve got like 20 humans remaining.
I could be wrong though, it’s hard to keep track since Aeth and the other RI propaganda guys stopped making videos. I wonder why they stopped.

They need to be top dogs on a server to survive, and can only be top dogs on a server if there's no real OW competition.

The Anniversary Tower is a zone where you complete tasks to get keys to each of the floors and then can complete a task per floor to obtain tokens. With those tokens you can buy gear and augments as well as mounts, illusions, etc. but the problem was the gear purchased from doing this was massively better than anything that was available in the rest of the game during Kunark, etc. So basically all the non-visible slots you would just buy tower gear because of how superior it was and so much loot from Kunark and Velious was just rendered useless because of this.

You make a good point, a new server every six months instead of two at once every year... would probably make them a lot more money. People like me and

Upping AA speed dramatically would be huge for player retention at this point. I don't have time to grind out all these damn AAs, especially at pre-GoD classic exp rates, and it makes playing a tank in particular a pain in the ass if you want to actually be useful. On the flipside, maxing out faster might cause player loss... but I'd argue that the daunting task of "catching up" causes more people to fall off.
Been a while, but IIRC on live, the first 1000 AAs you get are at a super-accelerated rate (like 4x?), and I think the accelerated rate gradually declines until you get to 5000 or 10000 or something. Maybe they oughtta apply that to TLPs as well?

didnt they auto grant AAs back in the day? Or this might have been for certain characters? I remember logging in after that patch and had like 4500AA on my lv75. This was right when they removed headshot from the game, some years back.

They autogrant AAs that are older than a few expansions. So everyone can finally learn Innate Eminence.
What I'm referring to is upping the exp rate for AAs when they're under a certain point, especially under 1000 (which would pretty much cover everything important up through OoW (DoDH for some classes), just in time for TSS to up the global rate on all exp).
Not missing anything. Overseer is basically "log in once a day, click some buttons, get like 5-10% exp" which is good if you're leveling alts or can't play or whatever. Helps a lot in the 111-115 range where the exp is all borked.

Lawl, just ribbing, but yeah the energy is low. Can only speak for myself but I've got very little energy for Teek compared to Phinny or Selo. If I wasn't playing with such a solid bunch, I would have checked out already.
Competition still lights a fire though...if only there were some.
A few years off from TLPs might get people stoked for the game again, since the "nostalgia return" has been beaten to death at this point.

I've played on three or four TLP's at this point from classic through about HoT and I really can't get excited for it anymore. I haven't played in about a year or so and the thought of grinding for hours to max out AA and devoting time to raiding several days a week just isn't attractive. I've met a ton of great people along the way though and made some lasting friendships, but I'm getting too old I think bros. Shit sucks.

Well, their implementation of random loot is dogshit. Feels really bad to get double quarm loot on magmation and dogshit on all of p5 and quarm for a few weeks
Minimal thoughts and effort would have made random loot 10 times better with better fleshed buckets etc. lazy fucks.

This is why I play them years apart. It was 4 years between my last and teek. Gives time for that burnout feeling to go away and its fun again to jump into one.
Probably helps no other real MMOs to play either. Just a bunch of single player games or lobby games you can pop into and out on your leisure
Their PoP tables are all kinds of borked. Thankfully its almost over.
Free trade is mostly great. There are a couple downsides, though they are from the players, not the system itself. Everyone gets really greedy, way more then usual.

Spacing them out helps a lot. Once you start to actually miss the game, jumping back in (and actually committing for a while) is easier.
