Try logging out and back into your launcher, this made my char reappear.
Back up and in. Will get booted and try again because apparently I'm a glutton for this shit.
Zone name in top left corner is displaying the tier of the zone - something I suggested in the SoE thread and DG replied to about 12 hours ago. I am now an EQNL developer.

The same happened to me when I was able to get in briefly earlier. I'm hoping it's just a glitch from the spotty servers since I had an okay spot.
Looks like the devs won't be getting the day off to sleep after all. That's what they get for launching on a Friday I guess.

Doesn't seem like I have missed anything being lazy today while waiting for the winter-pocolypse. Hoping this gets straightened out soon. Oh well, it is alpha. However, I'm really curious how they didn't foresee these issues knowing the amount of alphas purchased. I guess they are stressing the servers while they have the first day rush opportunities.
Man, are there really that many nerds out there? I thought today was foosball day or something, so some of the load would be reduced by people going to pregame parties and stuff. I guess it is the eqn alpha demographic though.
