The Selecting Tool really helps a lot when building.
You don't need to use the big 200 or med 20-ish cubes as much which wastes mats. Select a few placed single voxel cubes and copy (Cntrl-C) paste (Cntrl-V) them and repeat, it is much more efficient. Can also select a bunch at a time and hit Delete key to reclaim fast, and makes stairs fast.

I think the respawn on trees is 15-20 minutes or so and not sure if they come back in the same location. Autohotkey would need to move and use mouseclicks, which it can i think, but lining it up to work all night might be tough if things dont respawn in the exact location.

I dont think so. Was watching a guy just sit in one spot on his claim and chop 2 trees that were side by side over and over(which btw is so fucking boring to watch on a stream). The 1st tree would re-spawn before the 2nd tree was even down(and these were little trees). Plus auto hotkey does click and hold, so its got to be super easy.

What is the secret to finding a place to stake a claim? Every map I have been to so far no matter if its a t1 or t3 zone has literally not 1 inch showing available.

Found a spot with 3 trees that instant re spawned. Harvested 1000 burled logs in about 10 minutes

How? That stream I mentioned the chat said the guy had been chopping those 2 trees for at least a hour and he only had like 600ish of those rare logs and the streamer stated he still needed like 1500 more.

well... my brother found a glitch where you can wiggle your way into the 'middle' of big trees. They yield much better rare drop rates. I also have a +2 discovery trinket, +10% gathering trinket, and hit the jackpot on my Axe.

Liberation - Esker (T1) has a plot by the portal stones with most of the lower level crafting stations. I am making the upgraded workbench and Amathrine forge in Courage - Vent on the bottom left corner.. SW of Blazin (I may move once the new server comes up to be closer to the portal stones.

Once the game is released Flight, I agree with you completely.

I think the bottleneck of a T1 resource might be a good idea, it lets new players get into the economy of the game fast, by selling, in this instance, Burled Wood.

Unfortunately beginners also need at least 1000 burled wood if they plan on mining anything past tin.

Which I can see turning off quite a lot of players because of its rarity. Especially when the majority just want to build, not spend hours trying to get rare wood just to make upgraded gathering tools.

Though I can easily see them monetizing it, since its basically just a tedious time investment, so pay $5 for a boost that increases chance at rare materials from gathering by 50% for a hour or some such.

True, and I have hated the tons and tons of wood I had to farm just to get to my true-silver pick. It was boring as shit until I put Netflix on and watched all of Donnie Darko again. Kind of reminded me of solo grinding mobs in EQ - play the game by barely paying attention to it. Is that good game mechanics? Probably not. But I did feel like I earned my pick in some weird way, even if I was only half paying attention to what I was doing. Oh, and yes I did have a macro, but only to left click my mouse repeatedly by hitting the macro key to turn it on and off.
