It is so much harder now according to OnraHow is this shit not dead yet, there is like two guilds clearing all the content now and its half the difficulty of what it was two years ago.

The worst players I have ever encountered in any MMO were found in EQ2.
Rift was a distant second.
Second time I've heard someone say this lolllEQ2's playerbase was always the weirdest. I've never been in voice chat where it was 90% redneck accents, but that was every single time in EQ2
Oh man, you had to mention Onra. Think I got an email from him when this server stared up asking if I wanted to revisit the land of II. Meh.It is so much harder now according to Onra
The haircut on that dude in the front row makes it look like he lost half his skull in a mining accident.

But I had a fine enough time in Dracos Argent toward the end of my eq2 time. Maybe I left before the events making him infamous, or maybe I forget! It's those pills they make me take in here; time just blobs together.
And if I could feel confident someone was trying to make a classic (!ack!) eq2 up through, say, Echoes of Faydwer, I would def play. But I have not even thought it possible. Too much lost code, not enough enthusiasm. But I do think the game was fine enough -- and sure beats a lot out these days -- for first few years. Had fun!

The whole atmosphere is pretty adversarial, the developers know what's best and you can thank them politely or fuck off.

I remember people talking about items that weren't right in DoF on the forums.I didn't get involved with the TLE mess because (I thought) it was pretty obvious how it was gonna go. They can barely support the "Live" game , there's just no way they were going to be able to fix years and years of broken shit for that server. I'm sure they made money off it but I don't see another incarnation of TLE fooling people again.
Felt a little bad for Onra though, he was taking it pretty seriously, gave them shittons of data on what needed fixing. He just didn't realize the general state of affairs, I think. IIRC they ended up banning him from the official forums because he was getting more combatative about the lack of fixes or responses.

this happened from the beginning. They maid beta testing for subscribers only, and when we told them about shit that needed to change, they did fucking nothing aside from slow down experience gain. They did the bare minimum and never intended to do it right.I remember people talking about items that weren't right in DoF on the forums.
One of the devs chimes in and goes WOW we will try and fix these can you guys post a full list of every wrong item.
I was like why are you having people who pay a monthly sub do your job for you.
