Did they have other plans for it, or was this the original “vision”?

It’s actually provided some momentum for me working through the hunter achievements. Almost half way through the RoS zones. By the time I level through overseer I’ve gotten most of the core AAs on my SK. Granted, they only play 30-40 minutes most days, if at all.

Resubbed over the weekend and took my necro to 101. There’s so much I’ve forgotten and presumably a bunch of new stuff they implemented I’m oblivious to.

Can’t quite bring myself to grind my pally 50 levels yet.

Leveling really isn’t bad except for 100-110 (in my opinion). There are some great sites that give good insight to progression and gearing but it’s like they totally abandoned 100-110-ish at least comparatively to the other spans of level.

Maybe someone has better advice than I’ve found but Gibbler is pretty fun and the gear is really easy to get. Missions are really easy.

I haven’t done any of LS but I’ve heard good things.

but level 100-110 is the easiest leveling you'll get after level 60 or so! You can request ToV missions at 100 and a few later, baboom you're at 110.

Just enjoying a solo class after being a pally so long. I mean, you can solo on pally but it’s slow as fuck and they seem to be a very distant second to SK now.

Still amazes me I can solo AoW, ST, Fennin etc on my necro all those years after I used to raid them.

New expansion announced. This actually looks really cool. Surprised that they aren't doing a Muramite redux after doing essentially remakes of Kunark through PoP, though.

Question, if one buys this, will they also get all previous expansions? Cause I need Laurion's Song on my box acct for the personas.

DE Ranger is something that should retroactively unlock at a much earlier point (maybe GoD?) because locking it to live / unavailable on TLPs is kinda pointless for most of the playerbase. DE Ranger is also something that's pretty easy to achieve already via DE masks. Then again, I'm just salty because when I saw "new class combination" for a split second I thought they were finally adding a Battlemage class.

As for what's cool about it, bringing back dragons is cool (the 2017-present expansions have made a lot more use of dragons than the entire span of 2002-2016 expansions did, considering how integral they were to the beginning of the game). Having the expansion take place on a flying city is another good idea. Reminds me of the Dragon Aerie in Dark Souls 2 combined with Fortress Mechanotus.

This is actually huge because it means it won't be nearly-impossible to level personas in that range (since personas won't benefit from the exp hit of achievements, which was the only real way to level before). Now the levels will be grind-able just like any other levels.

Yeah I'm pretty sure 90% of the level 125 personas got from 110 to 125 mostly using Overseer's daily gerbil pellets, which is disgusting. The rest of the 10% mostly use a stupid daily rotation where they get a mission (for ToV, LS or ToL which give a lot of XP) on their persona and then switch to their main (or get carried through the mission) and switch back to pop the chest. They can pop lessons and carry it through all the missions. This is also disgusting.

We'll see if the XP bonus is substantial enough to make grinding mobs effective. I think it'll have to be +100% XP or more to really motivate players to grind mobs.

You can say that again.

The exp bonus better be real substantial because as it is it's hard to even recommend playing anything beyond The Burning Lands on TLP because of how it is now.

The 109 to 125 exp boost is huge. After 115 it basically felt like I was wasting my time so I’ve just been doing overseer while doing hunter achievements with xp set to AAs. Got 120 last weekend.

There will be literal armies of DE Rangers...lol. I would have probably released 2-3 new combinations to at least made it a little interesting.

Sad to hear the zones are ugly. I guess the age of EQ zones being pretty to look at is long gone. I think the easy way to make a ton of zones instantly look more exciting would be to add a couple new sky types. Like OOW has a unique sky type in its zones. How about adding some unique sky layers in other zones? One of the reasons WoW zones tend to look so nice is that they usually have nice skies (that vary from zone to zone). EQ's sky layers are usually extremely dull. Weird thing is I remember it having more interesting skies once upon a time, namely in Velious.

What is the reason to make a DE ranger? There are hundreds of illusion items in the game, when I stopped playing everyone was always illusioned.

I don't know. I'm in DE illusion on my Teek ranger about 75% of the time already. There are probably a bunch of more interesting race/class combos they could have thrown in instead of that one. Like a new Beastlord race that's retroactive so Teek gets it (given how huge Teek is for population, it makes some sense). Maybe Gnome BST with a clockwork pet. Or Vah'Shir monks. I don't know.

there isn't, lol.

If they had the balls to make it available on TLP release the next TLP might have some but I imagine the faction would be all kinds of nonsense.

People are saying the XP bonus is 4x, which is much more than I thought they had the motivation to do. It's basically a reversal of their stance since ToV.
