Very little.
New areas, new art, new mobs. The only new ability kinda fell flat.
It's more of the same, done adequately. Since I love EQ, I'm enjoying it.

Wasn't there talk of making it easier to level by grinding from 109+ or something? That ever happen?

Yeah, one of the devs probably tried their own persona feature finally, realized the grind is ridiculous and then added a 4x multiplier to leveling xp for 110+. They did it just in time for my personas, lol.
It's still a ridiculously long journey but it's not so dysfunctional at high levels. I leveled a six box team from 0 to 125 and even though i took advantage of basically all the tricks it was a very time consuming. Part of the problem is you want to get new spells and armor every five levels after 70 or so, so that's around ten cycles of upgrades, very repetitive.

This is very true.
I'm also the don gorske of double quarter pounders with cheese. I love those and feel great every time i eat one.

Me and some friends started up on FV and going to try to go 1 to whatever it is now (125?) over the winter. I've heard good things about the expansion. I didn't try any of Laurion's Song but may do a little when we get there. We are trying to not twink or get any help from our other toons which we haven't done in a very long time so we'll see how it goes. Thus far, we're having a good time.

We are mid 20's... taking it pretty slow. We have Necro, Mage, Druid, Bard, and a Ranger. We really are just using the Mage and Necro with our Mercs. Our third is out for a week or two and he plays the druid.

This actually sounds kind of inspired/new.
So they've just kinda abandoned the remaking of old expansions? Not sure if Laurion's Song was a LDON remake of some sort, but they did POP/Kunark/Velious/Luclin remake expansions (two of each) along wth a Buried Sea remake. Come to think of it almost everything since level 100 was a remake, especially if one considers COTF to be a LDON remake.

I have totally lost touch with the lore. I think EQ2 is going through Veeshan's lore this expansion and the devs have been speaking a bit about it in the preview videos prior to the expansion release but I have no clue what's going on with EQ at the moment. I'm sure there are videos about it but honestly after PoP I didn't really think much about the lore but i've always thought EQ had some great opportunities in their lore.
