Haha good luck.

Its on the far east side in sort of the northern part of the map, nearish the coast but not on it.

So quest question, nothing major just a side one:

The two companions of Paladin Danse.... Knight Rhys and Scribe something. Do their quests ever finish or is it just a never ending chain? Done like 4 or 5 for each and wondering if it's worth continuing for anything other than the experience.

Also some fun stuff from another quest

The whole Silver Shroud quest line with Kent in Goodneighbor is awesome. I RP'ed every single piece of dialogue as the Shroud, was pretty funny. Last part is a little tricky and I wasn't really sure how to prevent him from getting his head blown off. Turns out after you intimidate his guards away you can get right up next to Sinjin and VATS pop his skull with a shotgun or something else hard hitting to kill him before he's able to fire. Afterwards he'll call you on the radio every now and then and upgrade the armor to actually be useful. Upgraded it once pretty much immediately after finishing the quest and while it isn't better than a full suit I imagine with another upgrade or two it'll be really good and a massive weight saver.

The staggering after getting hit is super annoying when combined with lightning speed ghouls and enemies being able to block you into corners.

Also getting some really bad frame rate issues on a 4.5ghz 4690k and heavily ocd 980ti.

Try this stuff

I did all this stuff, plus patched + updated the graphics drivers last night after nvidia released new ones + turned off in game AA and whatnot and forced them on through nvidia control panel. I was already getting rock solid performance and great FPS, but I got at least a 10 fps increase and more stability out doors as a result.

I didn't uncap my frame rate past 60 because it fucks with lockpicking and stuff. Still playable but shit moves too fast if you do that.

So I suggest doing this, basically. I run at 1440p and the game looks fantastic.

The ratios on level on Fortune Finder and the Ammo one are insane.

Seriously, you I am overflowing with fucking caps and ammo and I only took 1 level in the perks. Sitting on 10k caps now at level 13. You basically get 8-15 caps in every container and every raider/human you loot. Its insane. Ammo is similar. Don't overlook these ones!

I'm at 5k caps at level ~15, I don't really know what to spend caps on. I'm hoping to find some high level (or just more) merchants...

Try the new 358.91 drivers, I use a 3470K and a 970 both at default frequencies and it's at 60 fps almost all the time, dips to 40ish at worst. Everything at ultra quality.

Make sure you grabbed the latest GPU drivers. They are supposed to be Fallout 4 "optimized".

I'm on an OC'd 970 GTX with all settings maxed and have yet to see it drop below 60fps even in town with lots of characters around. Unless you are running 4K or something you should be able to easily see the same.

I was laughing at you guys for the excessive theorycrafting before the release, now i don't know what build i want to play lol. Sitting at level 5 with 3 perk points unspent (only took Action Boy), playing at Very Hard which is a legitimate challenge and involves a lot of running around and avoiding fights. Initial impressions are that this is the first Bethesda game in years that's not cutting edge in graphics, it looks like something that could have been previous gen. Not a particularly bad thing though since it is still very immersive. Story so far is whatever, it's an explore-and-write-your-own-adventure game anyway. While the formula remains mostly the same, the game feels better in a lot of ways...more integrated for a lack of a better word, every bit of loot matters (at least early on) and most of the perks seem useful and make sense (hence my decision paralysis). Bethesda sure knows how to make an engaging and fun open world (compare this to the Witcher 3).

Does anyone have any idea how the settler recruitment actually works? Like do I need multiple radio towers? Or does it just trickle in over time. The one I built has given me only 2 settlers than the original 5 you get and its been a while.

So as I do, got my toes wet to see how things worked, so time to reroll.

And I'm totally making Tony fucking Stark.

Stat spread I'm looking at is S3 P4 E3 C6 I9 A1 L2. Focus on getting crafting and energy weapon perks. Oh, and Party Boy.

drop shadow distance and god rays to medium. and check your system for performance issues via benchmarks (I use 3dmark)
