Its not. The game isn't even 50 gbYeah just grab itI have it waiting for me now at home on my PS4.![]()
I can't wait until I figure out I need to update the game for 5 hours and play Rocket League though. I hope the damn patch isn't 50 gig.

I got sprinters leather legs from a feral ghoul just outside of diamond city.Just spent about an hour testing spawn rates, loot drop and legendary mechanics in
.super duper mart, lexington
The indoor area has 24 ghouls in fixed spawn locations. I almost always saw 3 legendaries spawned within them. The legendaries seemed to be able to spawn anywhere, but I didn't explicitly track which places they did and didn't spawn at.
Because I sometimes only got 2 spawns I theorize that there is a % chance they spawn instead of a given enemy. I theorize this can happen with virtually any enemy but don't have enough data to back that up.
As far as drops go, the mobs clearly have a tier locked drop system. These are almost certainly tier1. I didn't track the drops explicitly but I got leather and raider armor (arm pieces and chest), pipe revolver/pistol, laser musket, combat knives, pipes and maybe a bat.
Modifiers seemed like I saw a lot of repeats but that's the nature of small sample size. I didn't seem like modifiers were tiered because I received powerful modifiers (VATS Enhanced armor and weapons, penetrating weapon, assassin weapon, lucky weapon, chameleon armor etc). It could be that modifiers are grouped and ghouls drop items in a given set but I spent enough time testing and wanted to move on.
If someone gets Sprinters (+run speed) or sharp (+cha/int) armor or never ending, irradiated or powerful weapons let me know what enemy type you got them from.
Well so here is what I just did...I guess you could go to a new settlement or one you've never really used, and bring an item that is steel+x+y, then make a fence and see if the x+y items get lost in the process.
Back in the original Fallouts, the combat system was loosely based around the tabletop RPG GURPS.So ive never played a FO before and watching streams just makes me confused as fuck - at some point it seems like an FPS then they zoom into bodyparts and go back to FPS style gameplay.
Ah ok - hmm which watch a bit more before i decide if i want to purchase or not. Game still just seems kinda weirdBack in the original Fallouts, the combat system was loosely based around the tabletop RPG GURPS.
So combat played out in a turn based fashion. The amount of movement and actions you could take were dictated by "Action Points", and you could engage in called shots (like, I want to shoot my sniper rifle at this super mutant's eyeball at a higher action point cost). This was possible in the game world setting due to the VATS combat system integrated into the PIPBOY (lore stuff). VATS stands for Vault Assisted Targeting System.
When Bethesda bought up the rights to the franchise, they rightfully realized that this system needed to be adapted in some way into a real time 1st/3rd person sci fi shooter combat system.
What they came up with was the ability to sort of pause the action momentarily, set up called shots where you could target parts of the opponent's body, and then watch as those called shots played out.
That's what you're seeing happening.
You can play the game as a straight shooter and completely avoid using VATS if you want, but it does help tremendously in large battles to do targeted shots. You can cripple legs, cripple arms, get a round of headshots, etc. with it.
I mean, it's still very much so a Fallout game. If you didn't enjoy NV at all you might not enjoy this one very much either. There's a lot of QOL changes but the core of the game is still the same.Standing in best buy right now. Traded in year old games and so could buy fallout with gift card money. But I put 2 hours or less into new Vegas and Skyrim. Neither hooked me enough to keep playing. Is this gonna be different?
I never use it long range. Its basically the oh shit button when several mobs are all over you to clear a couple out quickly with headshots.I'm finding VATS less and less useful. With some of the VATS perks and item mods I can see it being pretty strong, but right now it's marginally useful.
Its a hybrid RPG/Shooter set in a sci fi alternate time line where the microprocessor was never invented.Ah ok - hmm which watch a bit more before i decide if i want to purchase or not. Game still just seems kinda weird![]()
Had a legendary raider in a random trailer on the west wall, and a legendary ghoul somewhere. Ghoul dropped irradiated SMG, raider dropped bonus animal damage shotgun. Incase anyone is tracking these things. Playing on normal unlike many of the poopsockers. It's definitely on survival, just double checked. I knew that the game didn't ask when you started a new game and that was the very first thing I changed.
I've only gotten two legendary spawns so far, radroach and bloatfly. I didn't get a legendary ghoul outside Concord either.
Did you try it before you spawned them, or AFTER? The one I wound up experimenting with was using a save from right before I triggered its spawn.Concerning the save scrubbing; just to try it out did it at two different Legendary Feral Ghouls and after 10 or so reloads they have always dropped the same things. One was the Enraging Tuned Pipe Bolt-Action Pistol and the other was a Troubleshooter's Leather Chest Piece. Not sure if it has to be certain ones to manipulate?
It DOES work for at least some drops. I have about 8 different loot saves for that one legendary ghoul. I think the trick is to use a save from BEFORE the thing that spawns it is triggered. Once its triggered its loot is set. In my case my save is from right before looting the toolbox by the fire. Loot that and 10 seconds later the superghoul and his ghoulfriend run up around the bend in the road and beat the crap out of Dogmeat while I try to pretend I'm a useful human being and leadify them up.I don't think it works for drops. I just 'might' have seen it work for a quest triggered spawn.
Piper keeps switching back to her shirty pistol. Any way to get her to use what I give her without switching?
