Incentives : Film Baton RougeApparently they have been filming a lot of movies in the area according to the news, no idea why.
seems the baton rouge film tax credits is really lucrative.

Counterpoint:They aren't going to run a mainstream movie into the ground just to hold onto the rights.
the full movie.
I have no intentions of ever seeing this movie, but honestly, as an avid comic book collector when I was a kid, Fantasic 4 was one of the worst comic books ever. A guy that can stretch, a dude that can turn into fire, a guy made out of rock, and a chick that turns invisible. Not sure if there is any way to make a good movie out of 4 heroes with such gay ass powers.
the incredibles family has all the fantastic 4 powers, but their powers are genetic, their powers are still kind of gay on their own, but when they worked together they were able to defeat whatever came their way.Right about what re: Incredibles? That's a fantastic(lol) movie. It doesn't matter if their powers are "gay" in the context of live action superhero movies, that's not what it is.

The story really doesn't have anything to do with why Trank was hired though. Max Landis wrote the screenplay with Trank's input. If you look at Chronicle purely in terms of directing, you can see where Trank had a lot of promise as an up-and-comer. He was able to put a new spin on the "found footage" concept which allowed him to get shots not available to other movies of this type and was able to do a lot with a very small budget, not to mention how much the movie grossed. If a studio is looking for a fresh take on a franchise they have struggled with, I can see where they'd go after the newest hot talent rather than an established director that is stuck in his ways.Chronicle was definitely good, just not great. It was a bunch of unoriginal ideas (i.e. weird unpopular teenage kid not fitting in, power corrupts) and presented them in a relatively fresh way. It definitely showed that he had at least some creative talent, but even without the benefit of hindsight it seems like a questionable decision to tap him to direct your relaunch of the F4 IP unless you couldn't find a more established director who wanted the project.
you should really watch the documentary about the making of The Island of Dr Moreau . its very similarThe story really doesn't have anything to do with why Trank was hired though. Of course, as Trank has proven, the inherent risk in going after the newest talent is that they are unproven and don't have enough of a track record to know how they'll do when you suddenly give them 10x the budget they previously had.
Most of these movies had far bigger issues than how these characters looked. Not sure why anyone would have an issue with Jean's appearance. Galactus was in fact terrible, but just about everything about that movie was terrible. This photo is everywhere but how long until Fox realizes they shoulod stay close to the IP? Has marvel made statements about how stupid it was to ruin the Mandarin and how they dropped the ball?
That same discussion went on briefly here in NC before they got rid of the film tax credit and the industry has pretty much gone /poof here overnight. We had quite a few movies and tv shows being done here for a short time. Iron Man 3, Sleepy Hollow, Revolution, Under the Dome, Banshee. One morning I left the apartment and they were filming some of Anne Heche's scenes from Arthur Newman in a unit across the street. Was cool while it lasted. It gets mentioned in the news a lot, pros and cons and should they repeal it. I read the Baton Rouge news even tho I no longer live there because of family.
Silver samurai was never some old ass man running a mech suit, Doom was fucking awful in every way. Not only do they fuck up on the appearance the destroy the character. Why even call him Deadpool in Origins? That picture is dumb. The new Doom looked fine with the hooded cloak on, I notice how they specifically chose a picture of him without it. Doom always looks kinda stupid without it. Silver Samurai looked ok and so did Jean, her problem was the shitty movie, not the changes they made to the phoenix. Hell, you'd have to try pretty damn hard to even notice Juggernaut's appearance given how bad the rest of X3 was. Apocalypse looks stupid but the movie is 9 months out and his appearance will probably change between now and then, possibly due to fan feedback.
