I don't know. The dialogue at the end was fromWar of the Worlds. It'd be bizarre for this show to suddenly become The X-Files, but it seems like there's going to be some connection at some point, perhaps similar to Oliver Platt's divine inspiration last season.

Also, great callback to the woodchipper with Rye's foot sticking out of the grinder. I love the little nods to the movie like that.
