So 15 episodes next year so I'm assuming June summer shows. Time skip would depend on what goes down next week but this series was supposed to be the other side of the coin as in survival in the city compared to backwoods Georgia. Appears that is out the window and they'll probably find a farmhouse to hide in next year and maybe the kid will get shot being confused for a libe err deer. That would be pretty original.

Episode was pretty weak except for Torture Dad, but I don't give a fuck, because that black man could whisper anything in my ear and it would sound dreamy. I'd pay just to have him read me bedtime stories.

Okay then . . .

Anyway, liked the episode. It was able to throw a few things that I wasn't expecting. Mostly that the fenced off "safe zone" having to co-exist with their military guards - is already coming to an end.

Torture dad was a good turn also.

Episode provided a lot I'd hoped for earlier... struggles of a military in this situation among their own citizens in an environment where the world is ending and they want to save their own families. Would be interesting to see some of them go further off the rails than others. I, also, like the parallels between Travis's side (naive) versus Madison's side (more practical, accepting of the situation). Its probably going to come to a head soon where Travis is going to have to kill someone or lose his son. The black guy (Strand) seems like the first villain? Master manipulator.

I guess we'll see next week, but WTF does the coliseum have to do with anything? The military locked some people inside that were co-mingled with the infected? Why did Daniel need to verify that people would do some morally ambiguous/shitty things in this environment. He knows they would.

He prolly wanna release the horde because for a show about zombies, we sure dont see fuck all.

I dont see the black guy being evil tho. His voice is too charming for that.

Torture Dad is clearly going to release the zombies from the arena to overrun the military, mistakenly thinking that he'll be able to use the distraction to get in and rescue his wife. Which will also force everyone to flee the safe zone, setting us up for wherever they end up in Season 2.

See, I think those people make the best bad guys. He's calculating. Cold, but softspoken and he tells you what you want to hear. I almost got a kind of Randall Flagg vibe. Overall, I think he's the most intriguing character to date and he's only been in the show a total of 10 minutes or so.

Fearthe Plodding Dead.

So the military wore down a lot faster than expected. (only a few more days have passed this week?) As we guessed they spread themselves too thin even though their strategy actually seemed pretty sound.

They covered 50 hour shifts, extreme PTSD, desertions, mutiny (assuming they capped their commander), mass triage, the pussking being unable to pull the trigger, all the expected shit. We're already at "pull back and nuke it from orbit."

Obviously they don't go far enough because Atlanta isn't a smoking crater on TWD when it damn well should be. It'd be neat if they nuke LA and that's what causes the military and government to collapse and makes further containment impossible.

They could totally rip off the intro of Wargames just because it's awesome. "omg we just nuked LA!" "Turn your key!" "Fuck you Michael Madsen!"

I fully expect someone to use a pic of the daughter slutting it up with her step bro and slap Brazzers on it.

Talking the guy into freaking out because he was tired of listening to his goddamn crying was good stuff. And lol at the urine line.

Seems odd that he was ever locked up in the first place though. Locked up for grifting, I guess?

I think the show could have had a character (or 2 ) who is in the military and we could then see the moral issues that they would surely be going through. It would be something worth showing.
Nice try. Instead we get the same bullshit of The Military being one identity, similar to the Borg. Everyone knows everything. Even dipshit 19 year old (amazingly enough his actor is almost 40) Corporal is briefed on the plan being genocide of the entire metropolitan area while the military will evacuate. And every single one of them is A-Ok with this.

I don't know what's more stupid, Salazar and Madison believing a lowly grunt would know the big picture, or the writers actually giving the lowly grunt that information.
And the whole exchange plan? Ends with all of you bullet-ridden, no negotiations. For someone who supposedly knows how ruthless military can be, it's pants on head retarded.

There was nothing good about "torture dad", they ruined the character.

Only the black guy was cool, but you're stupid if you get attached to him, with THOSE writers.

Er, the exchange plan was just bullshit he sold his daughter to get her to lure the guy in with her poon. He says so like, four times.

Also doesnt help i really cant stomach his son. Hes even harder to stomach since we have another kid about his age, drug addict, who can actually do acting. I just hate the kid and all the scenes hes in, even with the bimbo.

Sorry i dont know any of the characters names still and next episode is season finale already. Guess that says something.

edit: i mean look at his imdb pic.

Yeah also here. Plus he has some weird crossed eyed thing happening at times. Really noticed it when Travis was telling him off for being rude. He's looking back with this blank cross eyed shit that just was real distracting.

How many writers have ever been in the military? It's the same percentage who know about office jobs, or people in a corporate setting, effectively zero.

You don't have to be in the military to know that the people at the bottom of any hierarchy get told fuck all.

Is it possible the stadium full of zombies is the military way of killing off the town?

Are you suggesting that the plan to kill off all the living to prevent them from turning and creating a mass of Uncontrollable Zombies was to unleash an uncontrollable horde of zombies?

I'm really disappointed with how little we saw the collapse of LA

By next week we will have the same world as the main show.

He said there are something like 2000 zombies in that stadium. There is no way they aren't getting out especially after we saw the father go and verify it.

This show is just as bad as the originalWalkingDead. For a season that is only what 5 episodes or something shit is still moving at a snail's pace. Or I suppose my main argument is shit is happening but not being shown. Alright so the big revelation of this episode is the military is planning a full withdraw and they'll kill the humans. But instead it looks like the military is collapsing prior to that. To drive that point home we got an off-screen firefight where a commander died. Very fucking satisfying. We aren't seeing any development or anything. Like TWD it is just lollygagging for 90% of the episode then just a jerk at the end trying to pretend like something happened. Show sucks. No one will walk away from this season feeling like they got a really good picture of the first few months of the collapse after the dead started rising.

I was doing some major "jesus fucking christ" eye rolling when they said they were going to exchange the soldier.
This. I went from the El Salvador dad being the biggest badass on the show to being the stupidest, and back to being the biggest badass, all within the space of a minute or two.
